Do you use a relaxer or go natural?

This is for any of us that have naturally nappy hair. My natural hair texture is extremely nappy creating a large droopy afro. I used to despise how little I could manage it when I was younger so I decided to get a relaxer put in. I had it professionally done. Within 2 years, I noticed that may hair became thin and had shortened a lot. The relaxer was destroying my hair. It got so bad that I had bald spots and I just shaved my head and regrew it. Now it's back to it's original nappy state but now it's starting to grow on me. Yes, the relaxer made it possible for me to style it but I'd rather have thick hair strong enough to break combs than going bald. So what do you prefer? Natural or relaxer?

Oh, i am sorry to hear that with your relaxer. Maybe the professional who did it isn't that professional at all. Or maybe your hair is a and scalp are sensitive to the chemicals used. Fortunately, until now after many years of having my hair relaxed, it's still healthy and strong. Maybe the conditioner i apply every after shampooing helps a lot plus i apply hair treatment every other week. At least now, you have come to terms with you natural hair.

The relaxer chemical might be very strong - acid based chemical and it might apply to your root hair that's why it destroy your hair and got you bald, application of such is 1 inch from the root should be, if ever you want your hair to straighten again better go rebonding treatment chemical is smoother and milder than relaxer.
