Yes, there certainly are violent women and husbands can be 'battered', both physically and emotionally. Abuse against men in marriage is not as often reported as abuse against women partly, of course, because it is not as common but also because many men feel ashamed to admit that they are being abused by their wives and also, perhaps, because the abuse may be more emotional than physical and emotional abuse is harder to prove than physical abuse.

Absolutely so. Wives do 'batter' their husbands, just like husbands abuse their wives. It happens. We don't usually hear of these cases. We don't hear about these husbands as we may hear of the wives who are battered.

absolutely becasue it is not just the man who could have anger issues or be the bully in a relationship.

I've known 2 men that were hit by their wives. Generally here in the States, tho, men don't feel as trapped in a marriage as a woman does and can get out easier.
