What will happen if i report abuse to some discussion?

Hi friend!
I just didn't like people repeating the same thing quite a time.
it ok if they do write on the same day but if the similar discussion stared after a week or more is irritating?
So i was giving negative rate for a such discussion but in hurry i clicked on the report abuse button , i then realsies as it as feed from me. then i go back and then put negative rate.
Will this make my reputation down?
what effect it have on my star?

Reporting something which is a violation of the Guidelines is something we are actually asked to do.
Reporting something will NOT affect your reputation (as long as you do it in good faith); giving negative ratings in a malicious way (which MyLot can detect) CAN affect your own reputation.

No i mistekly reported that i just want to rate bad not as abuse.

All reports are read by a human (who appears from time to time as GoAskAlice). It is he who decides what action to take.
In my opinion, the ONLY reason for rating something negative is if it is against the spirit of MyLot, so, really, it ought to be reported so that it can be removed.
