Hi Friends,
Yesterday I have realized that there is no big Religion in India Than CRICKET, So many people gathered to celebrate this Victory. It was like light festival Diwali and Holi. The people who gathered to celebrate this historic victory were not HINDU, MUSLIM, SIKH, ISAI, BAUDHHA, They all were INDIANS. At this Moment Real 'BHARAT BHAGYA VIDHATA' Was 'CRICKET'.
Thank You Team INDIA to give us such a moment to cherish, enjoy.
What do you say?

Very true...
I don't know why, still they have not changed our national game.
In India only "Cricket" is common among all the regions and people. We speak different languages, follow different religion and do so many things that don't allow us to be united as a country, however, Cricket is the only one thing that overcomes all these barriers.
Yesterday, it was like 26th January & 15th August, everywhere people were concerned about their country and we celebrated on the country's win.
It was a great feeling and I hope in future, at least they will change the National Game of India.

Hello Dear Ajay Singh! Yesterday I have seen on the TV how the people gathered on the streets every where in the country to celebrate this World Cup Victory! Since now I am about 50+ and since I am residing about 50 Kms away from the township this time I couldn't participate in this celebrations along with the crowd!
In 1983 I was just 23 years, and then there was no such big hype about the Cricket in India though people were interested in the sport! The TV was recently introduced then! Indians entered the tournament as underdogs and unbelievably won the finals! At that time I have seen the crowd coming out on the streets and enjoying the moments of celebrations.India won the Prudential World Cup at Lords ground and the celebrations were undertaking in India. The whole night India never slept!
There was no 24 hours telecasting and there was only one TV channel that was Doordarshan, there were no big companies to sponsor the cricket event, there was no glamour attached to this game then1 In spite of all these the people got united and were wishing each other 'Mubarak Baad' or 'congratulations on Winning the World Cup!'
That was the first time I have seen that people from all walks of life irrespective of caste, religion, status, education etc gathered and enjoyed the moment! Then I realised that the Cricket is the religion for Indians and they are die hard fans of this game! So there after when ever I get a chance to write anything about Indians and the Cricket I always mentioned in my articles that 'Cricket is a religion in India!'! Thanks for the discussion, I liked it!

yes you are right yesterday was celebrated like diwali here too,we all may have different religion but still we all are indians and so feel proud when our indian cricket team wins.Even during kargil war all indian forgot their religion difference and tried to help our army people. Time indians have proved that here still unity in diversity prevails. Thanks a lot to indian team so giving us such a memorable moment to cherish

Hi Ajay,
You realized it late my friend. Might be you are younger to us therefore this late realization. See, like football there is no other sports. What rich, what poor all can play football for it does not cost much to collect accessories for a football player but think of cricket.
Yes I was talking of football, that world sport is so poor in our country that we can dare to dream playing in the world cup football. Do not think that India would be lacking in talent. They are there but the amount of money and willingness that is required is missing. What one Baichung Bhutia wil do? If there were at least fifteen of them they would be there.
And yes, cricket, everything is there. Money is there primarily. Media highlight and what not. I agree with you that in India when cricket comes all other religions merge into one.
Jai ho.
