Another abandoned new born baby!

As of this writing, another new born baby was found on the doorstep of a church in Manila. As usual, authorities promised to seek out the parents of the child but unfortunately the investigation will be without closure. Why is it like this? How come mothers or parents abandon their child? Was it because of poverty, fear, or just being irresponsible? Do these abandoned babies were product of illicit affairs making them illegitimate? I believe that there are no illegitimate babies only illegitimate parents. Again, the RH Bill will come into play here; however, it is so controversial that society is divided between those who are pro and against about the bill. How can we solve the cases of aborted, or abandoned babies? I am thinking, if I am a congressman, to propose a law that will create the The National DNA Database. This will require everyone, from child to old people REGARDLESS OF OCCUPATION to submit a sample of their DNA (mandatory of course). The said program will aide the law enforces with their fight against crime, but also in identifying the parents of these children.

I think that it is terrible that the new born baby was abandoned on the steps of a church in Manila. I don't think it will be easy for the authorities to find out who the mother of the baby is. Maybe the mother was a teenager that hid her pregnancy and was scared when she gave birth. Giving birth without having a midwife to help must be very challenging. I hope that the baby gets a loving adoptive home. I don't think people living in the Philippines would want to give a DNA sample. The majority of the people would be law abiding people and be horrified to be told to do that. I think abortion is wrong because it kills and innocent baby. I agree with adoption because then the baby gets a loving home. The baby should be given to the authorities and not left on the doorstep of a public building. One time I heard about a new born baby being put in a dumpster and that was a lot worse.

The sad part is, not only these illegitimate parents abandon their babies but also their aborted child, too. And they must be held accountable for their actions. Heinous crimes need drastic control.

Good idea but a lot of people are going to oppose that plan. People would want a sense of privacy and confidentiality. Fairly good idea though.

I hated that person who abandoned her child.Poverty is not the reason for abandoning a child who is innocent in thier criminal acts.I hope that one day they realized that they made a henieus crime.

I think that's a really good idea. I hate the thought of newborn babies being dumped on the steps of churches, orphanages or random people's homes, but I suppose that is better than the slack mother's who leave their babies in toilets or throw them in dumpsters.

I am sad to hear the news. At least the baby was not aborted, it was delivered but then again abandoned :( maybe the parents do not have the ways and means to raise the child in a comfortable manner. But then they could have put it for adoption to other friends or in a formal manner rather than just leaving it anywhere. I think having the DNA Database is a good idea to identify the childs owners and also to identify crimes such as murder.

I guess the government should be more productive so that all the people can have a decent life in order for them to raise good children in the future. What if there is a law that you can only have two kids if your salary is only 8 thousand a month and you can have more kids if your salary is higher...just for the fact that they can really raise their children in a proper way. I think poverty has a lot to do with abandoned babies.

I agree to that DNA Database project of yours! That sounds so lawful which can maybe the best way to sort things out. I am very much sad to hear that news about the babies too. How come they can do that to their own bloods? People are getting less human these days
