I drink both hot and cold tea. Usually cold sweet (decaf) tea through the day and one cup of hot tea with milk and sugar in the evening to relax me for bed. I love Tetley's British blend. I've never had stomach problems and I practically live on ice cold sweet tea, especially in the summer! It's very refreshing! I can't see the mere temperature of the tea causing stomach issues, that's strange.

sweet tea...hmm, so interesting, i thought that tea is best served without sweeteners, but in this discussion, it shows that sweet tea is everywhere... a srilankan co-worker gave me a pack of lemon and strawberry blend tea, and i find it best without sugar... then, i saw him drinking it with tea...and said he find it strange that i can bear the taste without sugar, hehaha. :)

Sweet tea is very popular in the more southern states of the US. I live just above the Mason-Dixon Line, but it's quite popular here in southwestern Pennsylvania as well. I virtually LIVE on sweet tea! I love it! I couldn't bear the taste without sugar either!

I like hot tea a warming me up a cold winter day. Or when I feel a bit chilly. Green tea, earl greys tea or black tea. I mostly add a few drops of lime or lemon. Ice tea or cold tea is refreshing a warm summer day or evening. I always add lime or lemon to my tea.

Cold and Hot Tea. Well I don't drink much hot tea, in fact usually I drink sweet tea, which is a staple here in the Southern USA. I don't know if there is any effect on hot tea vs cold tea with stomach problems. I suppose it's just that if the tea made to be served hot gets cold it doesn't taste as good and upsets the stomach a little.

What kind of cold tea? Herbal? I drink cold chai all the time. I don't see why drinking any kind of cold tea could cause stomach problems. Did the co-worker give you any reasons as to why they believe this?

I drink both hot and cold tea. I drink a lot of ice tea year around. I never heard of it causing stomach problems. But what causes problems for some may not bother others.

Hi. asiamooner. I have never had any stomach problems from drinking cold tea at all, that I know of. Hot tea is very good when it is hot, especially when you are in pain with menstrual cramps or you have a bad cold. I like to drink cold tea because it is refreshing and it is also nutritious too.

I like to do hot tea with only plan tea leaves + water. I prefer the cold tea with sugar, lemon and ice in it. I thought plain cold tea tastes funny.

Unless your co-worker can provide you with any sort of reason as to why or even how cold tea could cause stomach problems I'd keep on drinking it whatever way you prefer it. I drink iced tea all summer long and have never suffered any ill effects.
