My husband and I had a long overdue vacation last February during the Panagbenga Festival (Flower Festival) at Baguio City. It was our best weekend alone. it's a pity that we were not able to bring along the kids because of the cold weather (my daughter had a cough then and we didn't dare bring our 6th month old, she wouldn't even appreciate it yet) and the crowd that surely gathered for the festival.
The entire Session Road was full with people watching the parade. The costumes and performances were great. We had fun taking photos and we even followed the parade. Aside from the festival, Baguio City boasts many tourist spots. We weren't able to go to each spot but I think we went to 90% in the list.
We hope to go back to Baguio with the kids maybe in two years. They will surely enjoy the place and try horseback riding.

I think it is great to explore our country. The Philippines has so many beautiful places to see that is at par with what other countries have. I also grew up in Baguio though I can't remember the last time I had been there.
I think it is nice opportunity for you and your husband to bond. And it is a great idea to expose your kids to traveling when they are older as they can experience the cultures and traditions of other people. It is another form of learning for them.

All work and no play won't definitely work with your our life. Good thing you found time for a vacation.

A weekend getaway is always a good way to unwind. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in Baguio. I grew up there, and although I go home about once or twice a month, I still miss the cool weather. Yes, there are always things to go back to, and it's just a bus ride away from Manila, so, it's pretty much easy to go to.

We have been to Baguio too for more than a couple of times. But, we haven't experienced the Panagbenga Festival.
From what i have seen on TV, it's the most wonderful festival they have. I guess, there are lots of people , doubling the number of those who go to Baguio during summer.
That one vacation with your husband without the kids was a good refresher to both of you as husband and wife. Wasn't it?
