In my case, never have any non vegetarian foods, but most of festivals seasons especially during Christmas and Easter my neighbors brings variety of non vegetarian food especially chicken items. But my sister is a non vegetarian. One of my friend is allergenic to meat especially mutton. Once he was in serious condition and was in hospital for a month. But it seems he is addicted to mutton. I feel vegetarian food do have those better side. But it is also known that much protein in available in non vegetarian foods. It is seen that those meat seafood are mostly allergenic here especially children.

As far as my know, besides the mutton, there are many non vegetable foods that can bring about allergy, for example crab, shrimp, some people will suffer from urticaria as soon as they eat them..Tt is due to genetic polymorphism. In this respect It varies from people to people.

Hi Shamrack, I have been a vegetarian since last two years. Before when i was a non-veg i never experienced any allergy towards meat but yes i hated sea food. My home country is a landlocked country, so we rarely have any variety of sea food. But when i came here in Australia, i tried tasting a sea food platter, I did not get any allergic reaction but i promised myself not to eat seafood ever in my life. I don't know what made me feel so but i can't stand the smell of sea food.

My mother is from a place near Kovalam and as you probably know....seafood is quite common to almost everyone in Kerala (yes, I do know of the vegetarian group but they are comparitively less than the people who eat fish). My mother has had sea food most of her life. But a few years back she developed an allergy to other seafood besides fish. Prawns, crabs, etc. I don't know how it happened so suddenly but now she can't have any of these....and she loves them.
I do not live in Kerala and we don't really get fresh fish where I live. So, I never learnt how to cook fish and we are mostly vegetarians with chicken sometimes. There are other vegetarian options to get protein.
