There should be no special taxes on any business!

I don't know why so many people work so hard to get the government to tax businesses. No matter how much the businesses are taxed, these people scream for more. Corporations are compared to a "paper person", that is, in the eyes of the law, they are individuals with separate rights and obligations from the owners. That's what makes them different than a sole proprietorship. So, there should be no special business or corporate taxes. The corporation should just be taxed on the same scale as a person. Just like the rest of us, their income would be tallied, their taxable income would be figured, and whatever tax bracket their income put them in, they either pay or get a tax refund. This would take all the loop holes out, as well as reduce the cost of doing business significantly.

Yes, I agree with this as well. It would be easier for many people to open up smaller businesses which serve the community. Up here though, there are many tax breaks and benefits for business owners, plus the ability to write off a LOT of costs and expenses. A person doesn't get to write off the costs of being a person (food, clothing, mortgage, etc, although we do get a small credit for a tiny percentage of rent/mortgage) but businesses get to write off the cost of being a business (licensing, supplies, etc.)

hi parated guess I am the first. odd. I do agree with you as here in California a lot of small businesses get so much tax stuff that they often just give up instead of working to make their small businesses grow. thats sad as they should have no special taxes at all. treat them like the rest of us just personal income tax and no other.
