How to get a free domain name ?

Hi friends. I want a top level domain name like .com or .org so badly.
But I don't like paying for it. Do you know how to get it for free ?
Is there any site where we can complete offers and they do the domain registration for us for free ?

There are some promos and such that will give you a free domain but the fastest thing is to just buy them. There are some cheap domains there like .info or .biz and others. I think i saw one before worth less than $1 a month.

They are available for less than $1 per the first year actually.
but the thing is that we will have to pay more than $12 while renewing.
It is only their strategy to make us buy domains.
If I can't pay for renewing the domain, I'll lose all the backlinks that i create to the site.

Well i use to have a plan before to use the money i got from mylot to buy a domain but from the thinking i have, its better if i just use free domain/hosting like blogspot or wordpress
