Last time I had an adventure, it was in the wet market! I don't really go there, but last week I had an urge to cook something different. I rarely cook and everytime I cook, I want it to be different. So I wen into the wet market with my wife (my wife doesn't know ANYTHING about wet markets and cooking) and we bought foods we have never even tasted before. There was an octopus, but it is too hard too cook so we just left it alone. Then she said she miss eating sinigang sa miso (Philippine delicacy of meat cooked in sour based soup) ad so we decided to buy a big fish. We found a large tuna and I kno the head tastes great, so we bought it. And beside it we saw something wed looking and ask the vendor what it is. It was tuna eggs! And so I asked if we can cook it together with the head, and she said it tastes nice! So I decided to buy and try it.. On the next booth there were seaweeds and the vendor said it was good for salads, so I decided to buy it too. When we get home we don't have any idea on how to cook the seaweeds and researched the net and found some recipes. And guess what? It tasted so goood that the next day we just have to come back to the market and buy some more! Now about the tuna head with tuna eggs, it tasted so creamy and delicious! But, it was TOO creamy.. We bought too much eggs than required! But anyway it still tasted really good! How bout you guys? Have you ever had an adventure in the wet market before or anywhere else than sells exotic foods?

If I have the urge to cook, I also go to a wet market. I only went to Supermarket to buy food like milks, tea, honey, jams and so on. I love Tuna soup, I hope you can make one for me when I visit you next time. I also like the tuna eggs, but it is high in cholesterol, so I would skip that. Seaweed? Luv it. Balinese has a certain recipe for seaweed that I like to eat fresh. Yummy...

Yes, it is a wet market special for vegetables and fruits. As it is high on a hill where most of the vegetable and fruit farms are. Thanks in advance for the soup...

I do not know what a wet market is. I am guessing it is a place to buy seafood? Do they sell anything else? We do not have anything like that where I am and I am very curious.

It is an open market where you can buy meat, seafoods, fruits and vegetables, etc.. But the place is not that clean because the ground is wet from the foods they sell.

Ah we have farmers markets like that, especially those way up in the mountains here where farmers just meet up to sell their produce.

my wife is a good cook, i am good in eating har har har. well i help around the kitchen too and always accompany her at wet markets or supermarkets. i am his buhat boy (carry everything for her). so since she a good cook she knows about wet market or market in general. what to buy, is it fresh, and what she needs. she eats almost everything but i am what she calls a picky eater. so there are recipes she cooks that i dont eat and there are recipes she cooks that i love to eat. i love pinapaitan and she cooks that too. i guess that is only the exotic food that i can eat.

Haha! Nice adventure! =D I rarely go into the wet market too... I prefer going to the supermarkets primarily because I do not know how to bargain (is that the right word? I mean: hindi ako marunong tumawad...) *is embarrassed* Anyway,... You should have tried the octopus!! =P Don't you cook it the same way you cook squid? I think it was octopus that my mother brought back from the province. Mmm... yummy! =P I also tried seaweeds recently. Just yesterday morning, in fact, when we had breakfast at my friend's house. We stayed there overnight after going to a midnight food trip at Banchetto. And in the morning it was as if we had another food trip at breakfast. Hahaha! I forgot what they called the seaweed, but it's the one that looks like a bunch of tiny grapes. I asked how they cook it and they said they don't, they just clean it. But it was yumyum! =D
