The IPL4 kick started to day with the opening match between last years winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkotta Night Riders (KKR) at Chennai. CSK skipper Dhoni elected to bat first after winning the toss. KKR did well to restrict the star studded CSK to 153 for 4 in alloted 20 overs. Srikanth Anirudh was impressive with his fluent 64 scored of 55 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Jacques Kallis got better off him in the last over of the innings. For KKr Balaji bowled well giving only 25 runs of his alloted 4 overs. Kallis took 2 wickets but was costly giving away 34 runs in 3 overs he bowled. Yusuf Pathan also bowled well taking 1 wicket giving away only 19 runs of 3 overs he bowled. CSK will have to bowl their hearts out to restrict KKR below 153 to win the inaugural match of IPL4.

Hi msdivkar,
Till over 11 it was ok. Chennai Super Kings were in commanding position. But after that things started faltering and they could not go beyond 153.
Now the path for KKR also is not so easy. They have to be very careful not to lose wickets in the early overs.

Thank you krajibg, thank you abtroy. Gambhir did lot of tactical mistakes the first and most important one was to drop himself down. He is the man in form and he should have come up the order at one down. Yusuf should have come in his place he is ideally suited for that position to control the innings even if it goes out of hand with respect to run rate. Gambhir is also bad in running between the wickets. They were in such a strong position when he got out. There was no need of stealing that run.
