Forget a letter, I'm giving him a list. 1. He needs to hang in there whatever fate/the people/ other people throws at him. This includes controversies, problems of any kind, scandals and whatever the public throws at him. 2. Pray. Pray. Did I mention pray? 3. Delegate someone who is smart, savvy and basically can handle all things (if can employ one) 4. He does need a vacation once in a while no matter what people say (just make it cost effective). 5. Don't take everything personal. 6. Don't read survey polls. Or any material regarding popularity, ratings, whatsover. 7. Be a Scrooge unlike his predecessor. 8. Before doing something, try to think the matter in another approach. And ask someone's opinion regarding the matter. Then, think the matter all over again. 9. Use common sense. Don't do a bad thing in front of a public or wash dirty linens. Though it is publicity, it will reflect on him as a person and as a leader. 10. Keep your subordinates in line. There is a reason why he opted for the highest position in the land. Whatever it is, use it. 11. Always be sensitive to the public mood. Remember EDSA? II? or maybe fictitious III? 12. Hire good people with common sense and with tightly shut lips. 13. can't think anymore. will write another letter for new ideas! in the meantime, enjoy!

I'd probably tell him to avoid poll type discussions.
