Integrity in your work

How come nowadays a lot of people do not seem to have the integrity in the workplace like they used too? Do we just not expect as much? Here is where I am coming from. I have worked for the same company for over 10 years and in the past it was everyone willing to do what it takes to get the work done. Who cares if it isn't in your job description, if help is needed we helped because we all worked for the same company. Now the company has been merged with a different company so we are bigger and now it every man for himself. I miss the good old days when we were a small company and worked together and liked each other. I'll keep my chin up and smile and hope everything gets better with time.

I know a lot of people work with 'integrity'. Other people don't. I don't think it's disappeared totally but I do agree that more people seem to be more.. disgruntled at work. And you know what? Maybe they have right reason - layoffs, crappy jobs, inability to get a BETTER job, pay cuts, whatever the deal is. I don't think that gives people the right to be rude or selfish to their co-workers though,a nd I don't think it gives them a good reason to be LAZY.

I am with you on this. The leadership, respect, and thank you's are not here as much any more. I am honest and will keep this value at and not at work. service, justice, importance of human relations, dignity and worth of the person, integrity, and competence are the principles that stand before me in my career. These are the same values I adhere to in my off time as well. I will always set examples for everyone that sees me.
