pre order or not to pre order..

So a few weeks ago I saw on Barnes and Nobles a reduced price for the next Harry Potter movie that is coming out on DVD at the end of this week. My husband thinks I am an overzealous fan who has to have the movies but in truth I was trying to get the best deal that I could. Between the pre order price and an online coupon I only paid $10 for the movie which will probably be closer to $20 in the stores later. Did anyone else pre order this movie?

Wow! I think paying $10 for it is expensive but you are right cause surely, they are going to increase the prices by June or July. If I can also pre order the tickets, I would. I have to make sure that I am also going to get the best deal.

I meant the one on DVD. We will go to the drive in for the new movie and it will cost about $21 for all 6 of us plus we'll see 2 movies.

Not that one, but a box set of a 70's sitcom, I pre ordered on Amazon.com and it was the price I accept as reasonable so I pre-ordered it. Turns out it was half the price it listed for when it was released. But from what I have noticed...pre orders are often if not always about half the price as I have seen them offered on pre-orders and then noticed next time in Target that they are about half price on pre order.

Yeah I saw Target had for the same price but the coupon with the price was better. Plus the closest one to us is an hour away

I order lots of movies on line. Most through Amazon. This way I can buy used also for less money. Granted you have to wait until they are out awhile but if you are looking for something older it works out well. I buy used books that way too and then donate or resell them. Now with redbox etc. we don't buy as much as we used to but sometimes I like to have the movie for more than one night especially disney movies for the grandkids. I also would check the local warehouse stores, they usually have big sells on movies like that the day they come out. No shipping and handling either.

I bought bargain books for the kids Easter baskets so I got B & N's free shipping but then again I have a rewards card thing with them too so I always get free shipping.
