Not being able to reach a coworker

I'm not going to get into too much detail about where I work, but I work overnights. 9pm-9am, 12 hours long, for two nights a week. I work with the same woman on these nights, and it's just the two of us. I've just had a lot of problems trying to reach her. Somedays she's really cool to work with and we watch TV and have a good time. Then there is other days when she barely says two words to me. We have two TV's and she will go in the back and watch TV by herself. Last week, we were watching a movie and she didn't seem interested in it. I told her we could switch it if she wanted to... a few minutes later, she just got up and went in the back. Since then, she has barely said two words to me and just sits in the back. I don't know, I've never had this big of a problem connecting with someomne before. She's not even someone that you could go to and talk to about this. I guess I should just let it go. Anyone else have dealt with this?

Hi there Neenie! Well, I have never experienced such thing in work but I do feel rejected sometimes in other places by other people. When that happens, I just go on my way and just try to enjoy the time without any participation from the person whom I am feeling rejection from. Maybe your co-worker has some personal issues and the best thing to do is to just let her be and go on with what you do.Maybe she will solve her issues eventually and when she's ready for friendship, she might be the one to approach you.

Yeah, thats what I'm starting to think I should do. I don't know if we'll ever have a real friendship, but I should just stop worrying about it I guess.

I feel such people have some problem. This makes them clamp up and be not open to discussion with others.I after a futile efforts tend to ignore such people. But if they come out with their difficulty we can help them in any way it is possible.
