Bratfest, the worlds biggest Bratwurst Festival is an annual event in Madison, WI. It is operated almost exclusively by volunteers from various charitable organizations from all across the country.
All the workers at Bratfest are representatives from various charitable organizations. Each worker earns $9/hour, none for themselves, but for their organization.
Local celebrities volunteer as cashiers for the event. Music is provided by local bands.
Rock Climbing, Kayaking, The Oscar Meyer Wiener mobile, the Monster Mural (a 20' x 5' coloring book), "Get Stuffed" (make your own stuffed animal) and fireworks are among the activities and attractions. There's even a Bratfest Boot Camp to teach you how to work off the more unwanted "gains" from enjoying the event! :~D
So what does all this fun and charitable frivolity have to do with unions... or even politics?
Well, every brought (usually over 150,000 of them) is donated by Johnsonville Sausage Company.
Johnsonville is one of the Wisconsin companies the union thugs have targeted for boycott.
What was Johnsonville's unpardonable sin that brought on the unions ire? Employees of Johnsonville donated to Gov. Scott Walker's election campaign.
So, because of this, the union "leaders" and many members are calling for boycotts of Bratfest... as well as the organizations that make money from it.
Now, let's look at this logically...
Johnsonville makes NO, Nada, Zero Dollars, nothing! from this event. They "eat" the cost of donating over 150,000 brats. On the other hand, the workers still get paid to produce them, the truckers still get paid to deliver them, and the charities still get paid when their representatives sell them.
So how on earth is "boycotting" Brat Fest going to hurt Johnsonville?
The answer.. it isn't.
If the unionistas had anything resembling a brain, they would bus people in to Brat Fest to buy up as many brats as they possibly could, thus COSTING Johnsonville more... and give money to charity at the same time.
Especially this year, since Johnsonville has announced that it isn't just donating 150,000 brats, but providing as many brats as the event is able to sell!
The mindless unionistas are big on going to events yellling
"SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!
At Republican politicians.
Well, I say that these oafs have NO SHAME at all if they are so willing to target charities in their heartless and inhuman "boycotts".
I say, support charity and defy the union thugs demands!

HiParaTED thats just awful.while I am a California I read all your discussion and it seems to be that all the 'Bratwurst p eople are
doing is to the good of the city and the state too.It sounds like
an annual event and is done for the sake of charity not to line
the people putting it ons pockets at all. When unions started out I was a little kid and I guess they were helpful but these people boycotting charitable events is terrible and they make thsmselves out to
by goons and thugs.boycotting charity events make them look stupid in my eyes.I may not be a republican but these people really get my goat. I
doubt if their boycotts are going to garner any sympathy.

It is all about the Union bosses who may not have such great jobs now that they have to convince their members to pay the extortionist dues. They think it is a great way to get publicity and show how bad the private sector is.
I do have one question Is the former Democratic Governor Doyle going to give back the $3,500 he received from the Koch Brothers?
The second question are the retired public employees going to return a portion of their retirement check to the government because $5.5 million of the fund is invested in companies owned by Koch Brothers?
As long as they are gaining from the Koch Brother it is OK but not others, I guess is what they are saying.

How many more examples do we need that these union thugs are greedy, self-interested, destructive people before fair-minded individuals stop buying into the sympathy card and actually realize that these bozos aren't "deserving" of anything?
They act as children while demanding to be treated as entitled members of a workforce.
They remind me of my brother. He'd let trash pile up in his room for months and then try to fight you if you suggested he clean it.
Which is it? Are you a big man or a messy little kid?

What a pathetic lot and motley crew these union thugs, including the teachers, are. The shame is theirs and I hope they reap it in heaps. Their criminal tactics, threats, stalking, and other actions are unconscionable.
But, that's how whining, dangerous, self-absorbed liberals are. It's always all about them and inflicting their will on others AT ALL COST (sound like a community organizer/usurper/union supporter we all know who herded the Republicans into the bowels of the WH 2 years ago -NO PRESS ALLOWED- and informed them that he will complete everything on his agenda AT ALL COST(?)
As for me, I love a good sausage of almost any kind, except too spicy. Brats are great, and what a wonderful way to celebrate and share! Oh, and the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile; how fun is that! Leave to liberals to pollute, ruin and destroy every good thing. Your use of the words "oafs", "heartless", and "inhuman" are spot on and insightful.
Scott Walker is a hero, and those are few and far between in today's corrupt and cowardly government. We must uphold, support, and pray for such heroes.
And we must NEVER, EVER, EVER give up in face of such all-consuming evil. We must stand against and defy it, as you say.
Hooray for sausage, and festivals, and true charity (love) and BOO for the hatred these thugs spew out almost daily now! May the evil they do boomerang rightfully on them, and they be hoisted on their own pitard and fall into the grungy pit they have dug for others.

It's interesting to see how the unions continue to demonstrate to everyone that bothers to look that the only thing they care about is themselves and maintaining their power. They definitely don't care about their members and it seems they will do anything or hurt anyone to get their way.
All of their boycotts show the idiocy of their thinking and the callous disregard they actually have for workers. They only care about collecting dues, so if you're not paying them money, they will do anything they can to hurt you.
Now they're trying their best to hurt a charity. In fact, by showing their true colors, what they are really doing is hurting themselves. Unions are being held in disdain by more and more working people who are seeing what they are really all about. They talk about "union busters" but they are doing pretty well busting themselves.

These unionthugs and there dealings are so weird and mindless. This doesn't make sense at all.
Well, if the unions are not getting their share of the cuts, they are mad. This is the only thing that could start to explain any of this, besides the donation to Gov. Scott. Which in this way is starting to go to far over board.

You answered yourself in this one. "If the unionistas had anything resembling a brain...." Obviously they do not.
