Roche's Xenical or GlaxoSmithKline's Alli. If you are, then please stop because active ingredient in both of these drugs called orlistat known to inhibit the absorption of fat in the gut is responsible for liver and kidney damages. According to Reuters, Canadian researchers found that 0.5 percent of new orlistat users were hospitalized for kidney problems in the year before starting on the drug. Over the next year, that number jumped to 2 percent. It is believed that the new study on orlistat is based on 953 new users of orlistat and is published in the Archives of Internal Medicine. So before you pop in the next pill, please check with your doctor or reconsider. Ref: http://health.asiaone.com/Health/News/Story/A1Story20110413-273451.html

Thanks so much for posting this news, I was thinking about trying diet pills for my weight, but I was always skeptical to do it thinking that it could cause harm. I never liked taking pills for anything because of side effects. Thank you again.

If that's the case, if that's true, then the company who manufacature or owns that product should pull-out them out of the markets for the safety of the consumers.
