Tendulkar's misfortune

India

It has been three times in a row that Tendulkar has registered a century and his team couldn't win the match. The first one was in the group league match against England in the World Cup where India was just about to lost the match but managed with a tie. The second time, against South Africa in the World Cup, where India lost the match after Tendulkar's 49th ODI century as the remaining batsmen failed to keep the momentum and the last one was yesterday in the IPL against KTK where MI failed to win the match as KTK batted well than MI. It must hurt Tendulkar but he would like to score more hundred and secure the fate of his team so that at future his century gets a value and won't go in vain. What do you say ?

Yes indeed. This is now becoming a fact. when Sachin Tendulkar the living legend of cricket scores a century then his team doesn't always find the glory of a win, but I must say to watch him score all those ton's is equivalent to winning yet its sad to find out this. Yesterday's match was the recent proof to this, after such a glorious century from the hands of Sachin and accompanied by Rayadu, backed up with bowlers like Malinga, the win was certain. The 182/2 was so competitive and Kochi Tuskers Kerala losing two matches the win wasn't on their side but the beautiful batting showcased by Brendon McCullum and Jayawardena made it superb indeed. Hope these sad moments don't happen for Sachin anymore.

Maybe the score of 182/2 was way under par. with wickets in hand MI shouldhave gone for more.

@moksha KTK were bowling well so Mumbai couldn't manage more runs. MI could've started before but no one thinks of losing after scoring 180. @tintukm Sachin should play the way he is playing but we think his contribution are less. He is doing his work perfectly but if others can't help him in a team game what else he can do ?

After Mahela scored a ton in the World Cup final people thought that would be a match winning effort but Dhoni and his men proved them all wrong. Sachin's job is to score as many as he can, the win is achieved by the team. The team fell short yesterday. The wicket was benign and held no terrors for the batsmen.

You are right mate. A century can't win a match. A team game is necessary as well. If others can't contribute much a defeat may happen.

Hi, Should we call it misfortune? Of late a gossip is in the air let Sachin hit a century and the opposition win the game. This has happened. I do not think this is a case of misfortune. This is rather a coincidence. There are instances when Tendulkar hit centuries and India won the matches. So I do not think it so seriously.

In my opinion, it is not Sachin Tendulkar's misfortune.i.e, it is not his problem.Actually the problem is of his teammates. In all the matches if we see it was clear that only Sachin played well and all other players were mere spectators. They didn't ball or bat well and after that they lose the game. And atlast all the burden to Sachin's century.I think this is not fair way to impose the burden of lose to only Sachin's century.

I really feel sad for Sachin. His team mates could have done much better and one look at his face and after all the hard work that he did he must have been so disappointed a win against KTK would have surely been like a jewel in the crown. I really wish that he makes many more hundred's and would not care about what some idiots say. GO on Sachin we love you very much.

That mean it isn't necessary to concentrate on the Hard work , we could simply rely on the fate , even a person makes the hard work he can't ripe the fruit . Bloody hell ? How come some people think like that .

Yes, hard working pays most of the time but sometimes it couldn't give the result as expected. Chance and luck plays a crutial role.

Now that India has won the world cup, I am pretty sure Sachin really does not mind losing those two matches when he scored centuries. Similarly, I am pretty sure that if Mumbai Indians win the IPL, he will definitely not mind losing this match when he scored the century. But seriously, I am really bored watching these one dimensional matches where the batsmen keep plummeting the bowlers all over the park and the bowlers have very little to offer. Cheers! Ram

From what I gather Its only because most of the centuries that Sachin scored have come on easy batting pitches. Which means the opposition batsmen also have the opportunity to score big. When he is representing India he doesn't have the luxury of having a good bowling attack with him to defend the score the team puts up with Tendulkar's century. But as far as MI are considered, they have a good bowling attack just that McCullum and Jayawardene are just too good for any bowling attack when its their day.

We people are making a lot of fuss about it.For teh records of Sachin's 48 Odi tons India has won matches 34 times and has tied once and the match has been abandoned once.So that makes only 12 times that sachin has scored a ton and India has lost.It is not a big deal for a man who has been playing for the last 21 years this dubious fact is not a big deal.Hope sachin is not getting too bothered by it and I hope we the fans stop making a big issue of nothing.
