I've been living in apartments for the longest time. I like big cities and I like being close to places. This means living expense is pricey. I want to invest in either condo at a prime location or a house in the outskirts of the city (Manila). They will probably be more or less the same price. what is your opinion? Which would you prefer? What are your experiences? perks and downside of each..

I think I wouldn't be able to choose, I really like both for certain reasons. I live in a house in the suburbs, and the city is not really close from here, all around is very quiet and calm, I have a big place to plant my trees and flowers and I really love this quiet environment. Anyway, all the time I'm working here on the computer and I'm also always alone because all my family has things to do out. Sometimes I feel like trapped here and I go where all my trees and flowers are, but is just not enough, all this calm is not what I need. So I like to go to some Starbucks at the city and I'm always thinking that if I had a condo at the city would be much better, because when I feel trapped here, I could go for a few days to the city, listen some noise, see some people, cars, life, activity, go to some mall or just walk around there. I have some problems with the condo living, though, maybe could be too noisy and the small space would not be made for me, but for some days, a week and even a month would be great. I think is all up to you, you can see those perks and downsides of both and choose what could be the best for you, what do you enjoy most, what do you want on your everyday life, analyze all the posibilities and choose. With the time, maybe you can have both, that would be great, right? Good luck with this!

Thanks for sharing the pros and cons. I guess Ive been used to being in the city and I only get to enjoy the 'quiet' life during vacation at my parents' house in the province. Right now my main requirement for my home would be a stable internet, cellphone network connection and a convenient store nearby. I wish I could have a trial. Live at the suburbs for a month or two and do the same at the condo. It sure would be ideal to have both! too bad it's not practical :(
