My daughter started complaining about her ears this morning. Both my girls have been sick the past few days so this doesn't surprise me that she has an ear infection now. I had them both at the doctors a few days ago and they didn't see any ear infections just said it was a simple cold. Well low and behold she is now complaining and pulling at both her ears saying they hurt, she is 3. So now the doctors office is closed all weekend, so I can't get her in until monday. I don't want to make my poor babygirl suffer for a whole other day with this pain. Does anyone know any remedies for ear infections that I could try?

I had this really nasty ear ache a month ago. It hurt so bad but it went away itself. I reckon it was the cold weather and the direct wind blowing to my face and ears. Maybe it's the weather there too??

I'm thinking so. The weather has been really weird here lately with one day being nice then the next being really cold again. Its just that time of year here going from winter to spring to summer that it seems she gets sick. Glad that your ear is feeling better:)

I use an oil made of willow bark and garlic. IT both soothes and fights the ear infection. I can buy it in our food store in the organic isle but I used to have to get it at a health food store. It cannot hurt them and if warmed in hands first will help greatly. We use it every six weeks as my oldest gets an ear infection every time she has her braces adjusted.

Thank you opinionatedlady. So far the Ibuprofen is holding out but in the morning I am going to go the store and see if I can find this and try it. Just so I can try and get her to hold out until monday when I am able to get her to the doctors. I defiantly appreciate the help.

one of my daughter had experienced that she is 5 years of age, just a 2 months ago.It was really painful for them. She always keep on crying and telling me that her right ear was so painful and itching... I try to look on it. and because her ear was so tiny whole i can't see it.. one of my friend suggested me to buy and flashlight earpick so i would be able to find out what wrong or what is in... and i did i found out, because of her several cold she developed a big wax in her ear. I try to pull it out by myself while i keep talking to my daughter to be still... and gud thing i did... but if you are not sure for that, the best thing is to look for a doctor. that could be more safe. Now my daughter is okay.

Ibuprophen is the best thing I know of. It works better than tylenol. If she is already on antibiotics from the cold they should clear up the ear infection too. Unless they are not working. You may also be able to use a heating pad on low to sooth the pain but only for 10-15 min. If the child will lay on it that's a whole nother battle.

Thank yo natnickeep. They didn't put her on any antibiotic for some odd reason so I have been trying to give her Ibuprophen she isn't one for wanting to take medicine. I am going to try the heating pad and see if that works. Thanks for the info.
