What if you only had one month to live?

Our church will be starting a study after Easter called "One Month to Live" and using the book with the same title for our small group studies. We picked up our books this morning, so I haven't had time to look through it. But this topic has been bouncing around in my head ever since the new study was announced a few weeks ago. What would you do if you had only one month to live? I've been thinking about that. I think I would spend time at first contacting all of my friends and relatives to let them each know what a special part they played in my life. If we have had strained relationships, I would take the full blame - even if I wasn't fully to blame - so as I apologize and to receive forgiveness for whatever my part might have been. (I know God has already forgiven me for my transgressions, but it would be nice to repair earthly human relationships.) If I was still physically able to get around, I would want to ride a roller coaster one more time. I haven't been able to ride many roller coasters since I hurt my back and my knee. If I couldn't get to an amusement park, I would order some videos of roller coaster rides to enjoy (with quick, overnight shipping, of course). Each day, I would begin my day with the Lord and would spend time with Him. Then, as the time wound down, and the month became only days to live, I would seclude myself at home, making sure that I spent more and more time with the Lord. If it was His desire, I would share about those visits with my friends and relatives near and far. I would write, both online and in my journal. And I would hug my family close. I'm sure that one of the purposes of the study is to point out that most of these are things I could do even without the motivation of having only one month to live. What would you do if you had only one month to live? Why aren't you doing those things now? Why aren't I?

If I had only one month to live, I would let everyone know what a special part they had played in my life, and then make sure and start writing things down for people to be able to read and enjoy once I was gone. I would also be Praying and meditating on God and all the good things he has done for me. I would also be insisting my husband and I to take a trip somewhere for a couple of days just to get away and spend time together knowing it would be rough for him once I was gone as well. I think personally we should be taking time to share with out Loved ones and friends how important they are in our life, and be meditating on god more sharing Jesus with everyone as in reality you never really know when you will only have just one month left to live.

We should be doing that. You're right. We never know when we'll be gone or when someone will be taken from us.

I would certainly want to spend as much time with my family as possible. I would try to enjoy it as much as possible. I would want to go on my honeymoon, as my husband and I haven't had the opportunity to do so yet. So I would definitely try and do that. I would do my best to enjoy what time I have left.

Enjoying the life that is left....isn't that what we should be doing anyway?

I think you have described basically the same things I would do. IF I was wealthy, I would give it all to my loved ones and charities that mattered, maybe find a family that was down and out.

Yes, if I were wealthy I would also want my loved ones and charities to benefit from that wealth. Knowing how people fight over the stupidest things once a loved one passes away, I might want to sort my own belongings and designate to whom they will go.
