Who do you think 'Red John is? '

The main antagonist in 'The Mentalist' is Red John, and the from the looks of it, it might be somebody who is working in the law force , somebody who might be very near the protoganist jane, so put on your thinking hats and give me your best guesses.. Who might be 'Red John' ???

Anyone, even Patrick Jane himself, can be Red John.
There is no much more clue to guess but it is obvious that he/she is from CBI.
Here is a well-written article about the identity of Red John.

I would hate patrick jane to be Red john , once even i got the far fetched idea that maybe jane might hav dual/multiple personality disorder and he is red john , but refuted that because of an episode from season 2 where red john kills two pshycho teenagers in order to help jane and spoke to him , he had a mask & all .. he could have been an apprentice of red john , but jane was sure that the other man was red john

there was an episode which stated someone has spoken to Jane who was red john. i cannot guess who it is, however. we have people who worked with red john but we don't know HIM as yet. the show might be over if we find out, but you never know how it is going to all turn out.

Hello!
I was watching the show with my bf, and at one point in the last episode he said : Red john is the guy with the newspaper. Thought he was kidding. Turns out he was right though. Very fun moment and my admiration for him grew a bit more :)
But...back on the discussion. I think that guy was "a" Red John.I doubt there's only one. I think Red John is an organization of bored millionaires that commit those atrocities ..because they can. That's what his status and means of infiltrating an escaping suggests to me.
What do you think of this idea?Could it be valid?

I really wish that he is not but then if he is then how is it possible that when he was being interviewed on live television and after that when he returns home he finds his wife and daughter killed. So I really doubt it and then I want him to be the nice guy as I really like the character of Patrick Jane.

I really have no idea but I am always thinking that its probably the psychic girl. Though I don't have proof about it. Another theory is that Red John is probably Jane and he has split personality. But I am not buying that as I am a fan of Patrick Jane hehe.

I actually have no idea who it could be. I can't even make a guess, lol. But that's an interesting theory, about it being someone who works with him, I don't think I've ever really thought of that... I guess we're just going to have to keep watching in order to find out.
