I think for the majority of people who can't really afford to go away on vacations or travel much that their backyard can be a little retreat. I use to live in an area where we didn't have a yard but now we do and i really like it. We have a nice open yard. A deck that I'm actually getting a nice table and chair set for (love places that have layaway), planning to get more bird feeders to attrack different birds and more deck furniture and lights for when family and friends come over. What do you enjoy about your area surrounding your home? Do you have a patio or deck? Is it private?

Halu Dominique25, our backyard is very wide, and we have many pine tress around, mango tress, we have fresh air here, becoz our place is far away from pollution,.we can get coffee every mourning and noon at our backyard under mango tree.If our MUM and my sister and her kids had vacation here, we are enjoying at our backyard, and telling stories while eating,we held programs also during family get together, relatives are welcome. They can play badminton, volleyball in our backyard, they are also playing games which they run and run, sometimes we join them. huh miss that moments. during night, kids having bonfire, while they are talking, have fun, laughs and everybody is hero according to their stories (LOL),. After vacation, they are going home, and it turns to sad and our backyard again turn to silence.only you can hear the wind breeze and the dog barks, and the 2 kinds voices of my two sons.sometimes the backyard will be noisy if their cousins and playmates went here.but of course it is so different the voices and noise of our own whole family. miss them all thanks GOD BLESS

My backyard is pretty nice, actually. Since I was 12, my mom and I used to plant new trees, flowers and fruits every spring, so now, we have a nice garden. It's a pretty big place and we have the fruits in the background and the trees and flowers closer to my house. Behind a tree we have some sofas and a table. But actually, we want to add more things, more lighthing, more details. I want a small lake :) but is difficult. I love to take care of my garden and I really enjoy it, is fresh, quiet and colorful.

Back in my hometown,we had this wide open space with tress and plants and flowers. Me and my family use to have some talks or morning coffee under the mango tree while enjoying the pine breeze. In the evening where kids have this bonfire and gathered for story telling that my father and mother are ready to share. Oh how i miss my hometown now,it's sad that we can't have our summer vacation this year since we already have it in advance last February. Here in the city where i am living,we still have a small place at the back of our house. There's guava tree and some plants ,but not as fresh coz we are near the highway where vehicles are too busy buzling all the time.

How I wish I can have a back and front yard which I can use as a place where I can have a little retreat. You see, our place has a very wide front and backyard. The problem here is, I did not have it developed because it has become my dogs' poop area. LOL

Our house is located near the highway so our backyard is kinda full of smokes and pollution. Thus we can never have like a retreat or stay in our backyard like were in vacation because its just not possible.

Hi Dom, Nice backspace there. I do not have a private one here, what with the problem of congestion in housing. There's a space at the back of the house though, it has creek running all its length and it is open to the public. On rainy days, it overflows with muddy waters up to two meters deep that's why no homeowner dared to construct a house there. I used to set up a target range there when I have to align my riflescope and plink cans during my spare time. Most of the time I just hang around the place to have a quiet time, gazing at the fields on the other side. In summer, the kids sometimes go there to cool in the shades of the trees that line the riverbank. It is really a nice place to be at.
