Hi there, akashpathak! Dreams are created by our subconscious mind. Some people say that one way for our subconscious mind to communicate with us is through dreams. One type of dream is about our previous feelings. Our subconscious mind interprets our recent feelings through dreams. Example is that, when we feel anxious and depressed the whole day and when we sleep after that -- we dream of nightmares, teeth falling, crying, etc.. Another type is you remembering the past. There are so many cause of dreams! And yes, I agree with you that when you understand what you dream, you'd also get a better understanding in your true self. It is your subconscious mind who is communicating to you after all!^^ I wish everyone a good day!

understanding dreams could be lead to confusion as most of my dreams are almost nightmares, lol! but seriously, a dream is a reflection of the psychological issues and sometimes physiological issues that is if you're suffering from an illness... sometimes it is vivid as if it was real and sometimes fragmented events, and to best interpret it would be through a thorough analysis of your past, present and future...
