Bed room can be used as a study room

This is a interesting topic but we must know the actual meaning of bedrooms. It means a private room in other words we can say sleeping room where people can sleep at night. But this room is not use only for sleeping but also use for study, watching TV etc. when the people have no more room then they use bedroom for this purpose. In every bedroom at least one door and one window is necessary. It is not necessary that bedroom should be large in size it may be small in size but cleanness is must in any bedroom. Like bedroom other room is also important for our home like dining room, kitchen, hall, guest room etc. Various types of beds are available in the market like Metal Beds, wood Beds etc. The user can choose according to their choice. In my opinion metal bed is better than other because its finishing is nice and its life is also long. My own bed is made by metal in black color. Share your view my friends Badroom can be used for other purpose also or not and beds may be any metal or wood.

Hi surekhar, If your bed room is big enough to accommodate a table and a chair with sufficient light coming from the right direction or if the bed room is shared by others too and he/she does not mind it is a nice play for study. I used to do this when I was in my school and College. However university it was different. Privacy is the main thing for study and when you are in the bed room people would hesitate to enter the room and waste your time.

I have a study desk in my room but I really didnt use it that much when I was still studying. I do organize my books on it and maybe use it when I need to write long assignments but I use my bed for studying and most paperworks. I would use the computer on the bed and when Ive printed out the files, I would lay out all the paper on the bed and arrange them in the order that I need them to be. I also organize my files(quizzes, exams, homework) in different subject on my bed. Im just more comfortable propped up on it when I need to do work rather than sit on a chair and work on a desk. That's just me anyways.^_^

Hi Karathi! I always use my bedroom as my workplace to study and do my own things. Since I have a limited space to do my things the only way is my bedroom. Aside than bedroom I can't think of any other place to do my work as we live with more than 5 adults in this house.

I think you are mentioning about a room similar to studio. There isn't any room inside the studio. You sleep, cook, eat, rest, watching television and so on within the room. There is another compartment for toilet or bath. Due to the cost constraint, one of my friend bought a studio in San Francisco, California, USA. It is very much cheaper if you compare to other type of home. For me, it is really a terrible place. I can't make myself comfortable with such compact space for long term.

It is terrible for me to squeeze and do everything within a room or one compartment. I need more space and more rooms for my daily living.

Silence and privacy is in your own bedroom and as you get tired in your studies you can easily lie down to rest and fall asleep then as you wake you can start all over again. Usually you do not want your things to be in anywhere. In your room scattered as they are, just fine because nobody will touch them to be lost and be found in other place or may be in trash. As for the structure of the bed,I do not mind at all what it is made of for I am just after my sound sleep in a comfortable, steady bed.

Hi there, We have a 3 bedroom home and actually only 1 of the 3 bed rooms is a bedroom, the others are used 1 for a prayer room which we have TV and DVD in it along with Books, small figurines etc. The other room is our study/recreation this is where we have our computers and watch TV. and this all changed from all being bedrooms to these after the kids left home. Our bed is made out of Black lacquer which is like smooth black shiny finish the other beds were wooden the kids took those with them...

Hi. surekharathi. You are right. I use my bedroom for many other things besides to study. I use it for reading, watching television, fixing my daughter's hair and for other reasons. I love reading in my bedroom it is so much of fun. My bedroom is very peaceful and my bed is very comfortable to lay on too. My bed posts are made of iron material. It is very sturdy and long lasting in its condition.

I am guessing that originally a "bed room" was used to keep the bed and maybe a few personal items like clothes. But in modern society it does serve as a multipurpose room! Most people (like my neighbors) do have a television in their "bed-rooms!" lol! Especially students can have a desk at which to study if they need that quiet place. And I prefer a nice comfy chair to curl up in and read a book - not that I have one or have time to read though! lol

Yes friend in modern society big house is more costly so the people can purchase only one 1BHK means 1 Bedroom, Hall and kitchen and they can use bedroom for multipurpose. Thanks to put your response

Yes, for me bedroom is not the room used only to sleep, it is my personal area I use to work, sleep, study, etc. My sleep on a mattress, since I don't like bed. I'm not the type that lie still when sleeping, so I always have problem falling from bed. Plus mattress is easy to move, makes my life easier when I have to move it. And there's a tiny desk beside my mattress head, I use it for study and my notebook is always there.

hello friend, You are right, bedroom has other purpose aside from sleeping. In my bedroom it's my private place where i can relax as well. Watching movies or listening to my favorite songs. Study,well...no,but reading yes. My bedroom is not too big and not too small. But it's comfortable and has enough light and ventilation...a big window right where my bad is placed to have some fresh air. A big closet for all my wardrobes and other clothings. A bed enough to accommodate 2 persons. A stereo closet for my music, files of cd's for movie watching and a drawers for my personal things. You will always feel sleepy when you are inside my room...mostly my bedding and curtains are white ....for a fresh ambiance.

Hi surekharathi A bedroom in my opinion would be ideal so as long as it has a table and chair. See I can start to study in a bedroom because it is so peaceful and quiet. But if I do not have a table and chair in there then I would have to sit on the bed. By sitting on the bed I would be so sleepy that I would doze right off. So ideally it is really the best room because one can be at ease and comfort.

Well, studying can be done in any room where you have peace and quite. The bedroom is not the only room. I agree it's private, more private than other rooms to do some studying. I like the bedroom for other things. LOL

Yep bedrooms can be used as study room too. I usually study and do my homeworks in my bedroom or the dining room =D I don't know why but those are the only places my head works the best. I don't have a metal bed, I think it's made of wood. Anyway I don't know the difference between a wooden bed and a metal bed. If it's comfortable, I think that's all that's important :D
• India
23 Apr 11
Ohhhhhhh thanks for saying you dont know the difference between metal and wood. In metal bed you cannot make a box for storing of your goods but if your bed is made by wood you have the choice you can tell for making a box below the bed and more attractive than metal bed. Okkkk no problem and thanks to put your response.

I think its depend on the circumstances, if you are capable to afford separate study room and if not then you will have to adjust with your own private room , and specially in our country India where population is growing so rapidly that in near future a large percentage of common people will have to adjust their bed room along with study room happy mylotting

Ya friend I agree with you its depend upon circumstances but I think most of the peoples use their bed room for study also even their house is big because if their habit is night reading then they can't do the study in other room. Thanks for nice response.

Hi! I think it would depend to the person who is studying. If he/she can study in the bedroom and not be tempted to sleep or watch TV then it's okey to use it to study, But if they can't resist they have to use the another room where they have no choice but to study. I for one would lock myself in my room to cram study for major exams in my room where I won't be disturb with the rest of the family, BUt there are times that I can't resist going to sleep! haha. the bed is quite tempting, It's calling me to lie down and sleep for awhile and there you'll just wake up and learned that you only have a few hours to study. So, the library in our school wold be the perfect place for me to study if I don't want to be disturb or I am too sleepy and lazy to study.

Well that depend son families and mostly moms also. My mom won;t allow me to study in the bedroom much because she knows that i would sleep off. My bed is quite tempting and seduces me a lot especially when i am studying mall by myself. I don;t like to study much only before exams i make it a point to study a little extra that's all! I have a separate study table but i rarely use that! So it's dusty! Cheers!

There's no study room in my parent's house when I was a kid and nor today in my own house. WE always use our bedroom as a study room also. We can't afford the large house with many rooms so we deal with anything we got as long as we can keep our rooms neat and tidy.

We can do anything inside our bedroom as long as we arent sharing room with other family members. It is a nice place to study because it is more private. If you really want to use it as a study room, you should work on it. Remove things that will cause distractions like t.v. Make it a good study environment.
