Wisconsin Public Sector Unions Get What they Demanded

Wisconsin governor, Scott Walker submitted a budget repair bill that included measures to allow cities, counties and school districts to reduce expenses without laying off workers. The unions and their members are fighting the implementation of that law.
Local governments and school boards clamored to offer sweetheart deals to the unions, extending the contracts before the budget repair law could go into effect.
Now that the cities, counties and school districts have strapped themselves with those contracts, reality is setting in.
Reality is, another part of Walker's plan to balance the budget includes reducing state aid to local governments and school districts.
So, because the local governments can't reduce the Cadillac benefits packages, cities and school boards are looking at laying off workers.
But that's what the unions demanded. So that's what the workers get.

Yep...they asked for it, and got it and it worked for awhile...now they don't want to do their part. They have had it cushy for so long. I've known teachers and principles that have a higher salary than police officers! And fact is...they either take what is offered or get unemployed. They have never been unemployed..they don't know how lucky they have been and don't know how lucky they are to still have a job. I say let them deal with unemployment for awhile like the rest of us and they'll be begging for their jobs back WITH the cuts!

I've been amazed at the salaries of police officers in our area. One guy retired at $90,000 (not a supervisor). He was ticked off that he couldn't get a huge salary increase. So he retired, took his pension, then was rehired at a lower salary. But the total of his pension and his new salary are lots more than he wanted in his salary increase.
$90,000 for a cop? Really? And they think that they're the "workers" and the "middle class"???? Are they not paying attention to the people who have to pay their salaries and what they're earning (or not earning)???

My son is a cop...he is no where near a salary like that. None that I know, and I know alot of them, have a salary like that. There's bad apples in every barrel.

It's always what they demand. They won't compromise, so they get lay-offs. And part of their population continues the greed while all union members and union bosses can bad mouth the state and local governments. And they'll try to talk more people into voting Democrat next time to overturn any progress made by Republicans.

I wonder if the parents in Wisconsin will decide to homeschool next year?

The inability of people to look just a teensy bit in the future both puzzles and frightens me...
What on earth could be wrong with promising things you can't afford to give? (sarcasm)
C'mon...
