I have always wondered that what baby cry when they wake up from sleeping especially the naps. Is it because he is scared? or he wants to tell mama he is awake? My baby cries most of the time when waking up from the nap time.

When baby cry then they do indicate somethings or want to tell something. In my opinion they do cry when they feel hungry and saw any dream.Because i saw when mother feed the child then they calm down and when they see there mother. Have a good time!

My youngest has just turned two and I have noticed that sometimes when she sleeps and I have to leave her alone (to take that well needed shower), she keeps quiet until the moment she sees me. This is also not too regular. Most times i can hear her screaming for me when I am halfway thru soaping. These times I am forced to come out from my shower with my hair full of shampoo. I take this as she just wants pampering and my sister will lovingly call it 'practicing her authority'. Uuurrgh!

It is what I taught my son long time ago to sleep on his own so I don't have to sit there to look at him until he falls asleep.

momof3 - turn on music, music box, musical stuffed animal or mobil...something with some sound to it and something they can hold or look at, and I bet it will help. You are the only thing they are interested in...give them something else to distract them and claim their interest.

Babies cry for only 3 reasons...they are in pain, hungry or are uncomfortable. And since the only way they know to get help is to cry..that is what they do.

Well, since most likely he is laying in a wet diaper...yea, he is probably uncomfortable. Or hungry.

It could be a combination of different things. It could be just a need to see someone familiar, sometimes it could be related to a dream, or something else completely. Every child is different and will react in different ways to some situations. Sometimes, it just happens.

I think that they cry because they are relaxed making dreams and in a moment they wake up and they didn't realise what is happening. So they cry cause they are scared and even because they know that crying mom or dad arrive.

I have a two sons. Eversince infants i was the one who took care of them. I guess it is because the sleep or nap isnt enough, they're trying to sleep more or something bothered them while sleeping. Another is it could be a mama call cry.

hi mermaidivy its the only wayhe can tell you something bothers him stil he learns to talk.He count want to hear your voice as he must equate it with good things and he feels all alone. If I remember right my two did the same things after naps when they were little babies. seems a very'normal thing to me.

I think it is normal as well but they don't talk so I just have to observe why he cries.

probably it is the transition from the sleeping to waking up. little infants are so vulnerable that they easily get affected. crying is one way of expressing how they feel. i would choose a crying baby over one that could not express what he or she feels and sadly there are infants with defects that cannot strongly express what they feel.

My older daughter never cried when she wakes up, except when she is in a new place or she looked around and there's no one around. My younger daughter used to cry, but not recently. These last few months she is great. She will come out of the room on her own, now that she can climb up and down from the bed. I think babies cry because they are scared. When they wake up, they thought they are on their own. Just my opinion.

Mine does cry when he wakes up in a strange place, I think it is common when they do that but he cries also when getting up at home but the kind of cry is different.

It seems to be that the change from a dream to waking stage is a bit startling so they cry. Often wonder that as soon as you go to baby and they immediately hear your voice they feel a sense of comfort. So my thinking is they are so comforted in their asleep moments so upon waking it is freighting for them.

One of the time when he oke up from a nap in a strange place, he screamed and I immediately picked him up because I thought he was scared. When we are out at the store, when he woke up from the nap, he won't cry though.

Why don't you ask him? I'm joke. I think because both he is scared and wanting you know that he got up.

Cries on infant are their first language to the world it is how they communicate and transcend into communicating their needs and fears, but when they are in their early childhood years it is a way of a habit along the way it will fade as their language milestones mature and able to express their ultimate profound needs when waking up the same as progressing in their growth.

crying is the language of the babies since they still don't know how to talk.. crying upon waking up can mean a lot of things.. it can be that he is hungry, his diaper is already full, he is not comfortable or he had a dream.. goodluck to motherhood.. :)
