I've got a Samsung Galaxy Tab as my birthday gift from my special one. I think this gadget is very interesting and we can do many things with it since we can simply installing many application from the Android Market freely. But some of friends said if Apple iPad is much better than Samsung Galaxy Tab. Since i never see a real iPad directly, i can't tell which one is better than the other one. Does anyone who has an iPad can give information about it? Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

i have no use any tablets or pads before, but with regards to the issue of the location tracking. I think is simply one of the features for, example, the compass app on the iphone/ipad, and some apps downloaded from itune will require one's exact location. Such apps are usually those that offer location specific promotions, or those 'what's nearby' app. these apps need to know where you are to tell you what's near and stuff. For me I often use an app that helps me locate nearby restaurants and other food promotions. I dont really find the tracking a big deal in fact.
But if you are already using a galazy tab, dont bother considering an ipad now. consider it after your galaxy tab is not functioning. Since its a lover's gift, use it show that you appreciate the effort and the thought. :)

I think that the Samsung Galaxy Tab has taken all the features of the Apple and practically doubled them! Just look at this comparison: http://www.pcworld.com/article/204779/samsung_galaxy_tab_vs_the_ipad_compare_for_yourself.html
More RAM and support for external memory, two cameras, ability to use Adobe Flash ...
I don't think the smaller screen is a big disadvantage. The iPad seemed rather bulky and fragile to me whereas the Samsung can be slipped into most pockets.

I have never owned one or used either one of them,b ut I would think that the Galaxy tab would be better. The thing about Apple is that anytime the battery would have to be replaced, you would have to send to to them and they replace it as opposed to replacing it yourselves. I have an ipod touch, and I don't use it all that much for that very reason. I have used the galaxy s phones so I would think that the tablet would be along that line, only bigger. I hope you figure out which one wors best for you, and have a nice day.

I own an iPad and I am quite pleased with its performance. I have no issues with it yet. Built quality-wise, i'm quite sure that it is sturdy. My toddler plays with our iPad and i would say that toddlers aren't the most careful persons in handling these kind of gadgets. Sometimes I would see him, lying on in and at times, i would catch him stepping on it and the iPad is still ok. It has a variety of apps too!
With the Galaxy Tab, I wouldn't be able to give much feedback on it since i have not used one. My husband said that currently, the OS used by the Samsung Galaxy Tab is built not for tablets but for mobiles. He said the use of the Tablet is not maximized because of the OS. Unless the OS can be upgraded to a version which is designed for tablet (honeycomb 3.0), iPad would still be better.
