do you think we can really make up for the lost times?

What's your opinion on this? We often say this, to our loved ones, to our parents lovers,friends,children... But even if we do and try to spend time with them now, days or months or even years later... Can we really bring back the lost times? Can we really make up for the lost times? Can we really make up for missing our child's recital, or can we make up for our sons baseball game? For boyfriends and girlfriend is there such a thing? Can we make up for the missed movie showing, or for the disappointment of your loved one not being with you when they promised you?

I am pessimistic to think I can MAKE UP THE LOST TIMES however people come to me and I think otherwise - I think I can't make up for it but then others prove me wrong , it is really a deep question and is making me think

i think we can. there are many ways, and maybe much better than the original plans. it is how one makes up actually for the lost times and how sincere it is done.

chiyosan yes I think so as if you loved your son or dau ghter when they did not show up as promised would you just quit loving them,no of course not.okay maybe the time will be a bit different but are you still not glad that she or he came to see you? life is to short for all of us to count up all the times we or someone else did not do exaclywhat they promised on exactly the certain time.if we kept trach we would just drive ourselves bonkers.yes we can make it up no two times are ever the same and lets be positive not negative. You have to be open minded to keep from being upset over every little thing.

Hi chiyosan... I am a positive person so I would say "yes." If we are consistent and persistent in making up for lost times. Although what is etched in the mind of others may remain and would be difficult to "delete." And this is the reason why 'making up for lost times' need determination and sincerity on the one making the promise.

Yes, I think we can make up for lost time. Maybe time isn't what we missed to begin with. It's more important to know someone is thinking good thoughts about you even when you can't see them often. I have a very close friend that lives about 8 hours away from me. We went 17 years without seeing each other. I have seen her the last two summers and we picked up right where we left off. We were always in one another's thoughts.

I think putting in extra effort because we didn't do as much as we 'should have' in the past is a good thing. I have found regretting what wasn't done in the past just wastes time in the present and doesn't do anyone any good.
