Do you believe cutting up people or disappearing into thin air is magic or sorcery? Is it black magic or tricks?

It is definately a trick. They cheated your eyes into thinking it is a sorcery.

I don't know how it works but I don't think it is sorcery. It is an optical illusion. The magicians use tricks.

Are you sure? How did David Copperfield cut himself into 2 without hiding in the box?

I worked for several years in high school as a magician's assistant. I've been cut in two, four, and beheaded. I've floated in air. Many performers prefer to be called illusionists because this separates them from the bad ideas connected with black magic. I loved my time in this area of performance. It is illusion or trick. It is simply distracting people's minds so they are concentrating on something different than what is really going on. And that's all I am gonna say about that!!

Well thanks for your views. You convinced me. I was just wandering. Magicians don't tell their secrets.

they are just tricks, i even saw a show where they were presented the most common magic numbers revealed and they were showing their secrets,it's amazing how the optical ilusion works... but there still are some, like david blane,i don;t know if you heard about him, that do tricks on the street and he has some that are absolutely unbelievable and i can;t imagine what optical ilusion could that be when he levitates or many other things...i guess i will have to wait till there will be a show with his tricks revealed also:)

It's tricks! I've seen some of those expose` shows.. where the magicians reveal their secrets.. I have heard before (somewhere, I don't know where) that if they're not careful, they can spill over into the black magic. You know, the seeking of magic and instead of seeking it in the positive side, maybe they get seduced into thinking they can get it from the dark side. I know there's magic to life, and lots of it. But I'm thoroughly convinced none of it comes from the dark side, just deception and loss, even heartache.

there are also scientific ways they can use to do their tricks. like the levitation trick is scientific.
