Hello Lotters, Ever since I left that Call center Training way back 2008. I've been really wondering sometimes how i can continue giving my Social Security when i don't have a job. I don't even have that freaking Social Security ID or Card Until Yesterday, I was able to talked to a relative and asked about my future job reference. I told i couldn't get a job anymore because of the Commercial Space and stay with my mom. then, she mentioned about that volunteer pay in the Social Security. I WAS SHOCKED! it's a good thing i had to talked to catch and give me a few steps how. but of course, i don't know how much would it be. i sure hope it's not beyond 5$ or am screwed. mylot pay out has it's usage, either for the skype or my pets food. i don't know if i can still fit it in for the SS contribution. well, there's this commercial business thing now i guess i can compensate. have a nice day. *how much are you guys/gals paying for your SS a month?*

Pag-Ibig Membership is better, you should try it too. eg. A Housing Loan 1M for 6% interest yearly up to 50 years to pay.

As far as I know the volunteer minimum is at Php364.00/month or check it out at their website. I switched back too to being a VM after I resigned from my job last month but I posted mine at Php520/month for a little higher that the usual pension benefit in the future.

Hello Vanny, Wow! that is almost ten dollars a month. i don't mind pay it for almost four hundred a month or quarterly as long as i can give my monthly contributions.getting my pension in the end is good i think. this is the first time that i am going to do it so i hope i can start doing it. but some one told me the lines are a lot i would go early when i have the time

yeah, I guess the quarterly contribution is the best one three months is not too heavy in the pocket. If I'm not mistaken you could pay on all Western Union branches for your contributions but if you want to pay it at their office the first week of every month is the most convenient time or any day before the 10th up to the 20th cause that's the time most people pay their contributions.

Yes- you can declare you are self employed and you can say the smallest amount.

if you are unemployed you can still pay, have you registered with sss before? if you had, and you are not sure of your sss number, you can still inquire about your number. if you have it then you can continue paying for it, just fill up the e5 form. and if you want to secure the i.d fill up for the e6 form and then attach your birth cert and then process for your id.

hi lk! when i left regular employment in the last quarter of 2007, i continued to pay my sss contributions thru membership as SE/VM (self-employed/ voluntary member). my personal monthly contributions back then was P1560 plus employer's contribution. that is based on income bracket. remittance can actually be quarterly whether you're employed or voluntary. so until now my personal quarterly contribution is P4680. i could have opted for less but for convenience, i decided to continue on the contribution bracket i was in back when i was regularly company-employed. btw, i thought skype is free if pc-to-pc. why do you need to pay for yours?

Hello Myles, The reason why I am paying for my skype is because i had to call up relatives, most specially my dad through their Land line abroad.they don't have internet, they don't know skype. they don't even have internet connection nor they know have to use PC or have one so we instead have to call them up through skype.. your contribution is way high, must have a big salary there

i hope you can find prepaid call cards which cost less. as for the sss contribution... when i left the regular employment, i just continued the same level of contribution for convenience. big salary is as big salary goes. high taxes and cost of living... create a big dent on the net income. lol

have you checked on your active ss number already? you need as reference for your monthly contributions.i dont have an SS Id either but it sure helps to know your number. by the way, please check on all the details you submitted and their consistency as per your docs on hand and the records SS have on file. you might want to avoid having future hassle for misspelled name or erroneous entry of date of birth. so, being under an employer would definitely provide you with higher premiums as employer's share is included. i have yet to find out how much is the minimum per month ( for voluntary contribution) but as per the info i have on hand 2 months past, its at Php300. im planning to do voluntary contribution probably this May. im not sure if you should shoulder employer's contribution too. you have the option to pay it quarterly. you can always check SS info online :)

Hello Nikramos, I have a Social Security Number but there hasn't been any kind of contributions since i left the job. I checked the website though but i need to go there to find out first, to see if they can check my records. i don't mind if it's 300 but if i can pay it quarterly then it's good to know too. thank you for that information, maybe in the few days i can take care of this again

you can actually register online so you can regularly check your contributions and your info. was your last payment within 6 months? if so,you need your ss number and the last SBR (kind of like the OR)of your payment OR the SS employer number of your previous employer (you may check with your employer's HR)to register. change of employment status is thru the SS office, payments may be made thru banks, then checking of balances may be done online once registered.

by the way, you guys own spaces for lease right? im pretty sure you have your accountant to work on your taxes. you can ask her to do the SS work for you for very little charge :)so you dont have to go all the way yourself every month to SS offices.

Hello Katrina, You didn't put in your profile how old you are, it doesn't matter it's not too late. you can still give it a try and apply at the near Social Security Branch. well, i am not sure whether other people have known it or not but the most important part is that i know this now and i can still contributehave a

hi letran I take it that this is to keep your social security running now you do not have a job that takes so much for social security out of eac paycheck. I remember my son went through something similar a numberof years back when he was out of work. He called up Social Security and got all the details. I dont think he had to pay a lot in but am not sure. I know that just calling here in the US in C alifornia where I am can be a pain in the butt. But still once you get to a live person then you get the right information and get it all settled., they can be really nit picky but get the right service person and you can get it all cleared up.Letran you really need that silly social security number as you are asked for it for the damnest things. so do get it. Believe me in your older years you will really be glad you have that Social Security. take care and Good Luck God bless.

You can continue paying your sss contributions even if you do not have work, under the category self employed. You can pay the minimum contribution of 400 i guess or if i could remember well, or if it is still the same its 320 or 360 pesos monthly and still enjoy its benefits lol you can still do sickness reimbursement ( if you got sick and checked with the doctor), you can still apply for loan. hahaa My contributions is within my salary range

Hello Jazel, I missed the part where i can still contribute their with my salary.Though, i never really knew then how the process do work i was glad i can contribute with my salary. i guess ten dollars or less wouldn't be so bad as long as it is good for my future and then. but seriously, i wouldn't apply for a freaking, just save it and get it when i am old enough

Yes, you can pay as a volunteer payee with Social Security System and you will get almost the same benefit as with an employed person. It is better to be a regular payor of SSS contribution till the time of your retirement so that you will have a higher rate of pension.
