In our plans for cutting electrical bills cost, we limit our time for watching the television. To replace it, we are using our portable dvd whenever we feel we wanted to watch a movie. That was cost efficient because of its being compact or small rather than plug 2 different machine, the television and the DVD machine. However, the last time I used it, it suddenly broke down. When I first open the portable dvd, it signals that it is low in battery so I plugged it in the socket while still using it. I was just starting the movie when suddenly the screen turns to black and the machine wasn't running but the power signal is on. When my husband came, I told him what happen and he immediately open and check it. He suspects that the IC broke down. After asking a technician friend, he was told that he was right, the IC broke but the problem is, those kind cannot be replaced. It was too small and those kind are not repairable. It seems that these kind of machines are disposable.

Electronics these days are junk. They break down easily. I suggest that when buying electronic products you buy the ones with a warranty so when it breaks you can claim the warranty. Avoid electronics that are made from less-known unreputable brands that don't provide warranty.
