a couple days ago I brought a bag of wheat bread from Subway restaurant where I work because my manager said she is throwing them away. Since the restaurant is closed on easter she gave me lots of leftovers like Meatballs, Steak, and the Orchard chicken whatever and the bread. Now I brought home so much bread that I do not know what to do with it. It got me thinking of making bread pudding but I am not sure of what it would taste like if it was made of wheat bread. What else other than bread pudding can I do with wheat bread?

Wheat bread has a stronger taste but as long as you add just a little more cinnamon , the bread pudding would work out. Plus you can make French Toast. That was the bread is drenched in an egg bater with cinnamon so it will taste great!

I hate cinnamon but yeah you are right it has a stronger taste than white. Maybe a strong flavoring can even out the flavor.

Oh no you hate Cinnamon?! Yikes! Oh well , French toast doesn't have to have cinnamon.

Why don't you share them with your friends or siblings' family?

Bread pudding made with wheat bread will be just fine. Since you will be adding sugars white and maybe brown and some vanilla, the wheat in the bread will not be overpowering. You can freeze some of the bread you have for making other recipes at a later date as well. Why don't you do an online search for; things to do with leftover breads.

I always make my bread pudding with wheat bread as that´s what I have as leftovers. I also make croutons, I dry them and blend them for fried meat and chicken. I cut french style old bread in very thin slices, place them in the oven to dry and when they are dry save them in a plastic container. I use them with mayonaise with garlic (or anything you like) for appetizers.

French toast is good. I had a ton of that bread when my husband got it from a truck accident. That was uncooked yet but I would use leftovers to make stuffing, bread crumbs, bread pudding, breakfast casserole and my favorite stale bread soaked in milk and honey!

If my bread gets old enough to where it gets really stale I feed it to the birds.

hi friend, you are Filipino so I guess you are familiar with " biscocho" , well it's dried day old bread, toasted and flavored with butter, then a little sugar or garlic similar to garlic bread. Bread crumbs are also good meat extenders so you can mixed it when you make burger steak ( mix it with ground meat and the rest of the ingredients like onions and pepper) It's good if you want to consume less meat and want your meal lighter. Learn how to make Filipino "embutido" and use it as extender, really delicious friend, my mom always makes one for me, good luck

You could make a batch of croutons with some of the bread to eat with your soups. You can easily store this in an airtight container for a few days. You could also make and store breadcrumbs that you can use for many purposes. Another quick and tasty recipe you can make form this bread will be to make bread rolls with some kind of potato or other veggies spicy filling. Or make a batch of a variety of sandwiches, pack each one in cling films and freeze them. Whenever you want to eat them, you can thaw them out and grill or bake them for a few minutes. They will taste good!
