Everyone know the fact if a team get a good start it will help the team to score a good run or can chase the good score and it is fully depend the opening pair LIKE the australia have ADAM GILCHRIST AND HAYDEN they always gave the good start to their team and because of it AUSTRALIA have won many matches and retain the 1st position in ICC ranking. So in IPL also many team has marvellous opening pair but i want to know among these which is the dangerous opening pair in a team do you think. About me i think the KINGS XI PUNJAB has the most dangerous opening pair PAUL AND ADAM GILCHRIST. This is mine choice what about you..?

It got to be the pair of Chris Gayle and Dilshan. They both are very aggressive and have done quite well in this IPL so far... Both are attacking openers for their respective team and have earned the fan's respect by playing their natural game. Chris Gayle has always been playing the attacking game since his debut and Dilshan in the last couple of years have become a destructive batsman. I personally think this pair is the best opening pair in the current IPL.

There are several dangerous opening pair in this IPL. Kings XI Punjab have Paul Valthaty and Adam Gilchrist, Delhi Daredevil has Virender Sehwag and David Warner, Kochi Tuskers Kerala has Brendon McCullum and Mahela Jayawardhene, Royal Challengers Bangalore has Chris Gayle and Tilekratne Dilshan. Among these RCB has the most destructive opening pair as both Gayle and Dilshan are aggressive and completely skillful. Mumbai Indians has Sachin but Rayadu comes at 1 down. KKR has Yusuf Pathan but they don't have any destructive openers this time unlike last three years Gayle and McCullum, arguably the best in IPL.

I think so far there have been two pairs that have looked deadly in IPL. Once is Paul Valthatty and Adam Gilchrist and the other is Sehwag and Warner. Both these partnerships have fired at least once in this tournament and have taken their teams to nearly 200 odd runs in the first instance and 230 odd in the latter pair. Cheers! Ram

I feel the most dangerous opening pair is none oither than Sehwag and Warner. Both of these batsmen are extreme aggressors and go after the bowling right from the first ball.I do agree Sehwag has been a bit off color but still that does not make him any less dangerous. On the other hand Warner is keeping on tormenting the bowlers. We had a glimpse of what this both can do against the Punjab team.

There are many dangerous opening pairs like Vijay-Hussey,Mcculum-Jayawardene but I feel in this IPL the most dangrous opening pair is Sehwag and Warner because when they stand for about 10 overs they take their team past 100 runs and if they continue they could take Delhi to above 220 runs so my vote for dangerous opening pair of this IPL 4 is Sehwag and Warner.

Hi siliguri, There is always a great importance attached to opening pair in cricket be it test cricket, O.D.I. or T20. In test cricket there have been some famous opening pairs like Simpson & Lorry, Marsh & Boon for Australia, Grinidge and Haynes for West Indies and our own Gavaskar & Srikanth, Gavaskar and Chetan Sharma in O.D.I.'s ther have been Sachin & Saurabh for India, Gilchrist & Hayden for Australia and many more. More often than not the opening partnership decides the shape of things to come. In present IPL I feel Delhi Daredevils pair Sehwag and Warner is the most devastating opening pair if they get the right wicket to bat on. They have proved this in their last match against KXIP when they put on 146 runs in just 11.4 overs and the team put on 231 runs, the highest score in this years IPL. There are many more but this pair strikes me the most.

Even i thinks that paul and Gilchrist are the best so far in this ipl. They are making good and fast runs for Punjab these days. And I guess Punjab is winning games because they are giving them such good start.

Paul and Gilchrist is so far had outrated the other opner as far as making of run is concern but another pair of Shewag and warner are good opning pair in this IPL. And going to other opners no pairs has done so much boom boom than what these two of them had.
