Sleeping - What's that?

I seem to only get about 6 - 7 hours per night lately. Not because I cannot get to sleep. It's because I work too much and have to get up so early. Any tips to help me stay more focused during the day? Thanks.

Well, there's all the usual ones like drinking coffee, fresh air, plenty of oxygen, splash your face with cold water etc; but my guess would be that you've already tried these, as you're asking for help on staying more focused, not awake :) If at all possible, be alone, even if it means going to the bathroom!, and just take some deep breaths, once you're 'feeling' that, which means you're concentrating on it and yourself at the same time, then and only then, think about what you're trying to achieve in your day at this time. So, think about what it is that you're supposed to be working on now, then you can go back to work more focused. It's a little like meditation I suppose, or self motivation, but the key fact is, YOU spend five minutes or so, focusing on YOU and YOUR goals. I hope this helps you :)

My dear Trvlarrangr, Just take about 7 to 8 hours sleep per night and you will just be okay. Eat a balanced diet and do your regular exercises. Avoid going to bed very late. Go to bed at the earliest possible time and always be consistent.Avoid worrying over things that your can not change and you will just be fine. For having a good sleep during the night you will be mentally alert for the days job during the daytime I use to stay awake throughout the niht hour trying to watch my favourite films on television and also to browse the internet but all this paid off with me sleeping at my official desk. My boss get to know of it and I got scolded.

I need to discipline myself to turn off the tv. It will be hard.

I think that you could write a list in the morning of all the things that you wish to do. Then you could tick them off as you do each of these things. You should try to unwind at lunch time and take in some fresh air. In the evening you could try reading a book to settle you into a sleepy mood. If you get up early try to go to bed a little earlier. You could stay focused thinking about a treat you will have at the weekend like a walk by the river.

I usually don't go out at lunch. I can try that too. I am sure that would make me feel better.

You're doing better than me. I only get about 4 - 6 hours per night these days. I have 4 kids and am a stay at home mom, but between doing laundry, grocery shopping, errands, cleaning, clipping coupons, etc. I have hardly any time for myself. I wish I had more hours in the day. I guess the best thing to do is to make up a list or chart that helps you get organized. I don't know how to be more focused though. I am going to read through all these suggestions and see what they say. Good luck to you. Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

Your lucky that you get that much sleep. I barely get 5 hours. I could use some tips as well.

Sleep is very important to function in daytime. I sleep a lot, I can not do without it.

this is your body's way of telling you that you need more rest. cut back on work if you can.
