What do you expect to happen when gas prices reach over six dollars, at that point IMHO, people who get paid minimum wage will be broke, and others who have to drive far away to work are also going to have a hard time. What else do you think will also happen as the prices raise?

If gas reaches to $6 it will surely affect bigger aspects of our needs. Shipments of products will cause producers to raise their prices. Consumers will be more problematic. Consumption will be lesser and a lot more!

That's a very good point, I never even thought of that point, I was only thinking of the effects of individuals. For sure the economy is going to be in bad shape, not to mention that the US is already in a pretty bad shape considering the large amounts of debt owed.

If gas prices do rise that high, I think people will start using public transportation or they will carpool. People are adaptable and will make ends meet. I don't think they will go broke. I think they will adjust their expenses to make up for this. They will spend less somewhere and cut out any expenses not necessary.

Hmmm, I see where you are going at, what you say is true, and that will result in the drivers being more broke. Remember that gasoline is limited, and it will run out some day, once the world's gasoline is near an end, I guess that people might even fight for it, I just hope people change their habits and carpool like you say, or even just walk to the store, which is like a block away, lol.

Well I think that this will cause people to lose some weight, because they are going to be walking a lot more. Therefore, they are going to be driving a lot less. Really, that might be the one great thing about the price of gas rising, is that there are going to be far less people on the road and it might really inspire people to walk. Then again, I think that people should be doing that even more and I'm only driving when I had to. Still people are going to have to adjust their life styles and go out a lot less and walk places when they can. Perhaps take public transportation as well when they have to , but public transportation is going to likely to go up, due to the demand being higher and they kind of have to pay for fuel as well. It is really an ugly situation to say the least, and the price of gas is not going to up. An ugly world that we live in.
