External or Internal ?

I am in lack of memory space in my PC , i am having 160 GB hard disk , nowadays i feel that it is not enough to store my data and contents in that 160 GB . So i have planned to get a 500 GB External hard disk that costs around 80 $ . Suddenly i got another advice from my friend that it would be better to get a Internal 1 GB hard disk that costs only 60 $ , now i am in a doubt which shall i go for ?

1 GB hard hard disk cost $60 is unbelievable man ,where you stay man.Ok let's leave it.
I think 500 GB external hard disk may be comfortable for you.Because you can use it in one or more systems.So go for External hard disk.

Well if you want a hard drive just for storage use then an external would be better. You can use it for multiple pcs and have portability.
Im my area, we have one seller of a 500gb portable harddrive that is the old one where you still need to plug it but the price is very cheap.
