Now, we all know the Canadians have great taste in music, especially the "rock" variety and, of course some wonderful bands have come from there. Anyway, I joined ClixSense a while back and included in the toolbar is a neat little radio channel thingy. The channels here in the UK are pants so I've been looking for something more suitable..and "BINGO!" yesterday I came across Rock 95. Wouldn't it be cool if I had a request played as it's live, with all the traffic updates, etc. The DJ goes on about "Bury" a lot. Goodness knows where that is but it's definitely in Canada, sorry I can't be more specific!! Oh, he's just mentioned Simco County! http://www.rock95.com/home.aspx My, talk about talking fast, I wish I could talk like that..too many "ers" I'm afraid, I'd be no good on Rock 95!!

Apparently it's Barrie, I've reliably been informed.

I shall have to believe you when you say that it is "ace". I can't get it to play at all. All that i get is the website and when i hit "listen live" i get another website! I can talk fast. But i tend to forget what i am saying when i do!

Cool site, thanks! Can't add it to my widget with the stations on though which would be more convenient for me 'cos I'm lazy. Haha!

I know about Barrie, but when you wrote "bury" I read burry, not berry... Tomata, tomahto...

Barrie is one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada, apparently. Reminds me a bit of Perth, Australia, how people have flocked there to work. Wikipedia shows how the population has exploded in Barrie. Scary stuff! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrie

Wahoooo! My favourite radio station, Rock 95 in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Listen to it every morning. Long weekends are the best if you like classic rock as Victoria Day weekend (yes, Queen Victoria) they do a top 500 of all time countdown based on listeners votes. BTW, Barrie, is about an hour or so north of Toronto (highway driving LOL). The station comes in nice and clear through most of southern Ontario, which is good, because I became addicted when I lived near Barrie. Thrilled that you like it!

Would they be amazed that someone from the UK is tuning in (online) or isn't it that unusual these days? I love the connections with Queen Victoria and Barrie itself was named after someone..er, British according to Wikipedia. So, how big is Barrie then? Is it a great place to be and is it cold in winter? Can't stand the cold 'cos I'm a soft Brit lol.

Yes, I'm sure they'd be thrilled to have a listener from the UK tuning in! Barrie has a little over 100 000 people living there, it's actually grown quite a bit, having doubled in the last ten or fifteen years. It's great in the summer, right on the water, lots to do and nice and warm. Always lots of big ticket concerts at Molson Park. Winter is nasty, snowy and cold. It's part of Ontario's "snowbelt" region. Great for skiing and snowmobiling if you're into that. At least once a year, the city has to basically shut down because all the roads are closed and inaccessible because of too much snow fall. Summer, as I said, is great though.

You seem to be crazy on rock music. I know nothing about it,but I guess that It surely tallys with the aggressive spirit of times and the fast pace of modern living.

The reason I love rock music is simple..the tunes! Rock music is also the best when heard at a live gig, unlike this "fake" stuff, do you know what I mean? This is why I refuse to go and see Lady Gaga who is playing at a free festival here, along with some other acts. It's organised by and played on Radio One, a radio station I have hated for years and years. No doubt there will be a lot of miming going on and I refuse to be a part of fake music..so there. LOL!

Thanks for sharing! I checked it out, and they really do play some good stuff on there. I always forget to check on the computer for radio stations. It is now on my favorites!

I'm so pleased you like the station too, based on my recommendation. Wow, it's so amazing how the internet shrinks the world and how one radio station can reach me in the UK, you in the US, Canada and beyond..all in real-time!
