JAPAN: Is it SAFE?

Due to the recent explosion and earthquake, Japan is now facing a very difficult time. Yet they seem to handle the situation well and remain calm and strong as a nation. I intend to visit Tokyo in the coming months, and I am wondering if it is safe to travel to Tokyo? Is there radiation there, that are harmful? OR is the Japanese government covering up this to protect their economy and tourism?

Hi. Jings89. Welcome to myLot! I don't think that Japan is safe at all. My cousin and her two kids came down from Japan almost a month ago. She is staying temporarily in this city that I live in. She will be moving to another state when her husband comes down from Japan in June. I will be glad when he gets here and so will she. I don't think that Japan is safe at all. After hearing and seeing the terrible earthquake, I don't think that anyone is safe living here at all. So much has been lost there and so many lives have been lost too. I think that Japan is just a haunted country.

What kind of your trip to Japan? Is it a personal travel or a business one? If it is a business travel, then it is likely you have to go to Japan. Whereas if it is a personal travel, perhaps it is better to change your plan. I am still worried about the safety in Japan now. I am afraid the earthquake hasn't finished yet. Besides, the radiation problem can not be solved in a short term. I won't take such a risk, especially there are still many options for the travel. I love China

Put all those fears aside. Just pray to God and commence your trip. Nothing is predictable. If any disaster is going to get happen, it is not that it is going to get happen only in Japan. Nowadays, disasters are happening in almost all parts of the world. Unless and until it happens, we will not be fearing about the particular region. So, just keep faith. Think like Japan has got ample places to look for from harbor to parks. I you are fearing for just a trip, imagine the people of Japan. They are always living on hope only. They do not know what will happen the next moment. All we can do is to have faith in God and to stop thinking negatively. So, you start your journey and days will be passing by sooner. Happy trip
