I got a reminder from God today

As I was leaving work today, the day before payday, I was trying to figure out what we would eat for dinner tonight. I had $2.48 in the bank and no groceries at home. I was feeling very hungry and also feeling pretty sorry for myself, when a coworker across the hall asked me to come over to her office. She had a refrigerator with sandwiches in it and asked me if I wanted some of them. Dinner is taken care of, and the sandwiches were very good! I often find myself fretting about where I will get gas money, food money, bill money, but then God always finds a way to tap me on the head and remind me that he will always provide us with what we need.

I needed to hear that today! I'm trying to figure out how to pay all my medical bills and still have money to live on... and I forget so easily. God said He would take care of me and then I go and try to do it myself. Your story made me smile because I know that's just how God works. Similar things have happened to me. How faithful He is!

I wonder why it is that we forget so easily, even though He has come through for us so many times? 11 months ago we lost 2/3 of our income, and we were struggling before that happened. Every pay I am sure we will not make it another month, but there is always an unexpected amount of money, and I mean ALWAYS. Once someone even called me out of the blue and said God told her to give us $100! Sometimes it's just that I come across something I forgot I even had, and it gets a good price on eBay. It's always when I am completely out of ideas that He gives me guidance or just plain supplies what we need. He has answered my every need since we lost so much income, and I believe it's partly because the loss of income was the result of us choosing to do the right thing (another story) regardless of the impact it would have on us. I'm going to make it my new goal that every time I start to worry and fret about how we'll make it, I want to remind myself that God will take care of us and pray for guidance instead of wasting my time worrying.

I think it's just because we're human and short sighted. I'm so thankful that He is patient with me. I lost nearly half of my income last September due to health reasons and have managed (with HIS help, of course) to stay afloat. With medical bills now coming in, things are getting tighter. It was easy to say that God promised to take care of me when I had enough or more than enough to get by. Now I'm having to live out that promise and like I said, I'm so thankful that He is patient with me.

I love stories like these! Simple, yet it gives me hope. For days that I too struggle, it is nice to know that there is always hope. Thank you for sharing this firemom! And I hope that your days get a little better each day.

Hi. firemom31. Amen! I agree with you 100%! Many times we will feel as if we have no where to turn, but God always seems to come through in the nick of time. He comes when all hope is lost. I have had many moments like this, where I did not have any food to eat, but God blessed my family to have something to eat. I hope that you enjoy your sandwiches for dinner! Be Blessed and enjoy!

That is truly an inspiring story! I have to agree. God will provide our needs whenever we are in need of something. That just tapped my head! It's true that we fuss about money all the time, but we forgot to even see the good side whenever the good side is already in front of us and offering us our need!

God never fails His people. I remember what David said in the Bible, that he had grown old and had never seen a child of God lack anything good (paraphrased). Truly, He is the Jehovah Jireh! He is the God who provides. He truly is alive and is at work in our lives. God bless you!

I truly believe God will give us what we need. But I do think he trust us to work some of our troubles out on our own. As in your case he gives us good friends.
