how do you get to put up the icons

im trying to learn how to put up my smileys and all.. how do you getto get these little smileys..

They are available from the 'myLot code' link on the left (when you are writing a discussion, response or comment). You need to have a User Rating of 100 (possibly more) before you can use them, however. You should be able to use Bold, Italic and Underline, however.

You aren't able to insert emoticons until you have reached a User Rating of 200

(sorry for my misinformation before. It's because it doesn't actually say, anywhere, that I can see. 100 is when you can see your 'star', 200 is when you can use emoticons, 500 is when you can copy and paste and add images to responses and comments.)
