Rajasthan Royals today restricted Mumbai Indians to just 94 runs in alloted 20 overs in an IPL4 match being played at Jaipur, home ground of R.R.. Mumbai Indians, the most consistent I.P.L. team so far in the tournament could not get their orientation right to day. The strong batting line up failed miserably and non of the batsman could reach even 20. Highest score in the innings was 17 scored by Andrew Symonds and the highest partnership was 22, the first wicket partnership between Jacobs and Tendulkar. The most successful bowler was Botha who claimed 3 wickets giving away 6 runs in just 2 overs. Is there really a devil in the pitch? We shall know when RR comes to bat shortly.

Yes, Rajasthan Royals bowled well today. I thought of seeing the clash of Sachin vs Warne, but Sachin was stumped before by Ashok Menoria. There were no need to play that shot. Whatever, other batsmen too failed to bat well and Warne and Co kept the pressure and restricted them within 94. Hadn't Harbhajan hit the sixer they would not have crossed 90 too. Hope Malinga can be their replies and other bolwers need to support and good fielding too required to win this match for the Mumbai Indians. However if MI lost the match it won't affect much as they are the topper and already nearly qualified for the semi final after winning five matches out of six.

Yes, they must get the credit. This was only the second defeat for MI in seven matches. I regret for missing Sachin Warne duel. However, Rajasthan did bowling very well which made the target very very easy. They can take the credit for not falling to Malinga or other MI bowlers.

It turned out to be the first batting collapse from the Mumbai Indians. They started well but then really fell off to fall short of the three figure mark. After an initial hiccup, the Royals easily chased down the total to register a good win. This opens up the table a bit more as MI were really pulling away from everyone!!
Cheers!

Well the home team have had a comprehensive win for the Mumbai Indians, although they had to fight hard. Ross Taylor and Johan Botha both played sensibly toward the end and took singles to make the run chase of Rajasthan Royals easy. Although it was sad that Botha had to get out just when the Home team needed 5 runs to win.

First of All congrats on reaching to 1000 discussions.
This type of thing happen sometime, even best team fails somewhere and score low.
It not the day for MI and RR bowler did best to restrict them.
I think Mumbai will respond to it in the next matches and will score high to prove that that they are very good team.
Also though RR win but they played with caution and slowly reached the target.
