Should Fabregas go?

As Arsenal title challenge falter, the noise about Fabregas goes up a notch. The question now is should he or should he not leave the club. Yes, I am an Arsenal fan and yes, I think he should go. He is most of the best player in his position. He had this uncanny ability to repeatedly spray those defence-splitting passes. He is definitely an important asset of the team. But think of this, Wenger had shaped the team around the spaniard and came out with the 4-3-3 formation. This, in my opinion is the problem to their trophyless streak. First, Arsenal do not have an out and out wingers. Players who were asked to play in those roles, Walcott, Bendtner, Arshavin, Nasri, Van Persie if Chamakh is spearheading the strikeforce. Walcott, Bendtner and Van Persie are strikers in natural, Arshavin and Nasri, are the playmakers. So the impact their can create is minimal because they are played out of position. Secondly, the strike force. Many a times, when cross were whipped in, we saw only one striker in the box facing at least 3-4 defenders. In such scenario, it will take something really lucky for the striker to get the ball. In the structure of the team, Fabregas should be in the mix but he is hardly in the box in those position. So relatively advantageous position is wasted. Thirdly, Fabregas is not the ideal captain. He has the skills but he lack the drive of a natural leader. Somebody who will grab the game by the shuffle and push the team through. In fact, I feel that Van Persie does it better. All in all, thou unwilling, I think Wenger should sell Fabregas. Re-organise the team. Ensure that all players are in their natural position. Take the money from the sale and enhance on the weakness of the team, which is the defence.

I'm an Arsenal fans and I also believe Cesc should be sold. I like him but I think this team won't progress as long as Cesc still there. He is a great player for that age and one of the important player in the team. But whyI want Cesc to be sold? 1. Arsenal will never get through Barcelona as long as Cesc still around. Whenever Arsenal play Barca, Cesc just not in the game. This season, Jack Wilshere have stole the show being the best Arsenal players for both leg. 2. Arsenal need better captain. Cesc just not a commanding captain as Adams and Vieira. He just like Henry. A lousy captain. 3. I prefer the 4-4-2 system with 1 deep striker and 1 pacy striker upfront. We have seen the success of Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry partnership. I just want to see that type of partnership again. 4. Arsenal need money even with the 40M transfer kit. 40M + 60M for Cesc will be enough to buy 2 defenders, 1 midfielder, and another good striker.

The game against ManU which Arsenal eventually won shows there are depth in the team. Ramsey was meant to be the cover for Cesc and he have done very well before Shawcross broke his leg. Now he is back he has shown he still got what it take to play at the highest level. He made ManU midfield look ordinary.

I would like to see two players upfront as well. In recent times, there were moments whereby after Chamakh came on, Van Persie dropped deeper into the play-maker role. All of sudden, the attack seem more purposeful and carried far more threats. I am hopeful that Wenger will see that and deploy this formation the next time. Beside Van Persie, there are players like Arshavin and Nasri who played in this position before they joined Arsenal. Both ain't wingers to begin with and their potency is somewhat muted been stuck out on the wing. As for your view on Ramsey, I thought he did well. The trio of Ramsey, Wilshere and Song running the engine room is mouth-watering. But I prefer to see a physically bigger and stronger player like Tiote to replace Song. Not that the latter is bad, but I think they needed more muscles there.

I think Fabregas should be stay in arsenal. I like the way he pass the ball, start, and delay the attack. Hope next season would be better for Arsenal and the fans. happy myLotting

No doubt Cesc Fabregas is a good player. I feel his time at Arsenal is up and HE SHOULD GO. Arsenal's future, especially the midfield, lies with Samir Nasri and I feel Nasri is the best player in Arsenal's fold today. I only want to advise Fabregas never to go to Barcelona because he may not get much plyaing time. He should equally weigh his options very carefully if he plans to remain in the premiership; he shold learn from the fate of his compatriot who moved from Liverpool to Chelsea.

I actually agree with your assessment. Every summer the off and on again saga of Fabregas is a distraction that the club can avoid. Also despite being a good footballer as a leader, Fabregas has not really impressed me especially in the big matches. So I think probably it is time to let Fabregas go as well as Rosicky and Arshavin and rebuild the side. Cheers! Ram

Well basically considering Fabregas wants to move to Barca last season only and also win trophies I think he should be allowed to do this time do so as Arsenal haven't won anything If Arsenal try and keep him i think it will frustrate him may lead to bad locker room situation specially if they force him to stay on start loosing a few games at the start
