Investing in Medical Marijuana

The medical marijuana business is thriving in several states. It seems to be the most up and coming business and promises to be extremly lucrative. I am currently looking to enter the field in the next 5 years. By then I hope to have enough money to go in with a friend and invest in a business. Does anyone have any oppinions on investing in medical marijuana? It seems to me that it would be a profitable venture.
