Public display of affection by lesbians

Philippines is supposed to be a conservative society. But I think this idea is about to change.
I just had a ride going home from work. Two ladies get inside the public transport (jeep) and sat beside me. I thought they were just sisters. Then suddenly, the girl on the extreme right implanted a kiss on the neck of the girl next to me. I saw it clearly and so does other passengers. I was shock. Immediately I moved to the end of the transportation, distancing myself because I cannot take what they are doing.
Just this morning, I took a jeep going to our church. When I went inside, a girl was sitting beside me. Just in front of me is another girl but wearing a sexy dress. She's pretty. I was looking at her because she's attractive then suddenly, the girl beside me transferred beside the pretty girl and placed her hand on the thigh of the pretty girl and smack her. I was disappointed because I was just admiring the way the pretty girl carries herself. And I would just want to emphasize that I am not a lesbian.
What's happening to the society? I guess the openness for gays and lesbians is okay. But doing public display is still not proper. I may be way to conservative.
Sorry if I offended some readers here. But in our society, there are still some (like me) who believes that smooching or affective acts should not be done publicly in broad daylight.
I'm open for your opinion myloters.

i would understand if they do it in some bar, or places like that. it wont appear something very "not so nice" anymore. but doing it in a public place, particularly in a jeepney... oh for God's sake cant they wait until they reach a more private place? i dont want to offend anybody and i respect everyone, but for me, those who do such things as this dont deserve respect from the society. that is just y opinion, i want to clear that.

Hi tammy27. I had the same reaction. These things also show your respect to yourself as well. If you can control your urges, you will not do such thing. After the couple went down, there were smirks and comments coming from other riders. If they've only heard and saw it, maybe they will realize that what they did was not proper.

Let's be real, no splittin' hairs here. The whole notion that gays and lesbians can be open about their sexuality means that they have the right to do in public what normal (and, yes, I meant normal) would not..As with any category of folks there are always the odd botkins who don't feel they should be held to the same standards as the rest. The fact that folks find such activities in public appalling is what fuels the want of their's to be as appalling as they please and tack on a snivel right to be so, like some silly status symbol reserved only for them..And for the record, when I say normal I'm not referring to sexuality. I'm sighting social/emotional development..There's plenty of heterosexuals I've seen who do the same with no regard to the public they force it on.

Just to make it clear, it just happens that what I saw are homosexuals doing a not so acceptable act. But for heterosexuals doing it in public, still, that is not acceptable for my sensitivity.

I have heard that some countries are more conservative then the United States. Here it is common to see gays and straight people kissing. I dont think the girl should have been dressed sexy in church. If your country doesnt like to see people smooching in public thats fine as long as it goes for both gay and straight people. If people there are ok with straight people kissing then they need to accept gay people kissing as well. From your discussion I think its just smooching in public in general that you and your society feels is wrong.

Yes, you are right. It is the act that is wrong because in a public transport, kids rides this to get to schools and most often, if there would be no censors to such act, then how can we justify or teach our children the value of discreetness.

I am okay with people showing love to each other in public to some certain level. Kissing and touching is certainly okay, it looks odd when it goes to groping and more. Even here in India we are not that very comfortable as a society with PDA, not even from straights let alone from homosexuals.

Very right. The reason why I've posted this as well is because I want to bring it to the attention of those who may be doing it too. It may help them if they see that many still abhor such acts.

I agree that public displays of affection are inappropriate, but not just by homosexuals! Any couples, straight or other, should only do this in their own homes. However, if a society allows a man to kiss or caress a woman in public... girl-girl or boy-boy couples should have the same right.

Well i have lesbian friends and they rarely do public display of affection.
But in general there is appropriate way of showing affection in public and there is inappropriate. Touching and fondling is really not appropriate for other people to see.

I can probably relate with this discussion. Your story was same was mine. No offense to those who are lesbians but what I hate is that they're not just showing affection their so called but they're having a fight and the lesbian is quite possessive with her girlfriend.
