I have been over weight for several years. I just recently started to have medical issues due to it. High cholesterol high blood pressure etc. I want to get back in shape but unfortunately its expensive to eat to healthy. I would love to get an exercise routine I could go to loose weight and get back into running 10k runs again. Can anyone please help give advice as I can't afford a gym membership. Thanks.

Over weight is a problem for many, and as u have said eating healthy actually is costly. fruits now days are very expensive. may be you can increase your physical exercises. like get up early and do skipping exercise. have a good breakfast and light lunch, do not snack in between meals, if you are hungry drink more water or have salads or fruits, buttermilk or simply low fat milk sans sugar. do not add sugar in ur daily coffee or tea. brisk walk daily for 1 hr may be 30 mins in the mor and 30 mins in the eve. do not over do anything. cycling is the best exercise. above all be very happy. you need to lose weight gradually and maintain it. so basic walking, skipping, stair climbing, cycling or swimming will do wonders. drink lots of water. you can also fast one day in a week. where you should have only fruits and milk on that day. this is a good habit to detox your system.

Walk or jog up and down a flight of stairs- probably the best all around exercise for ones body. When you want to burn fat- don't do a long steady paced run/jog- you will burn much more energy if you do interval running: changing the rates at which you run often and what not. Myself- I just use bodyweight exercises- you can get quite sophisticated with them too-like gymnastic/martial arts holds and what not. My favorite is the freestanding handstand push-up: works a whole bunch of muscles at one time a whole lot. Good luck!
