Since the death of Osama Bin Laden, here in Australia there is a bit of a panic about traveling to America. Travel agents are advising people not to travel to the States in fear of any attacks or retaliation due to Osama's death. My daughter is due to travel to Los Angles in 3 weeks and is a bit worried about the situation and was wondering if she should delay her trip.I would like to hear from people all over to let me know what they think, and what if any advice your countries are advising you to do re travel arrangements. Would you travel to America now or delay your plans.?

I would say that it isn't a good time to travel anywhere, and especially to the United States. Not because of terrorist threats, but because when security agencies are tripping over each other in panic, that's when accidents happen!

YES I think panic would be really bad at the moment and it could be added stress when traveling. Thanks Sue

Yes, peoples are bit afraid and are repelling from tour to America. But let me remind you one thing that American military is always bin a tough wall compound to be broken since the 9/11 attack by Osama, even it is gone so strict since then, so people should not worry instead they got to Enjoy Trips they intended for.

Hi Suehan, Even am travelling New York this month end. We cannot fear for all these. And terrorist will not revenge immediately at same places. So dont worry. Los Angeles is safe place as far i know. I feel its better she finish her trip going now as there would not be immediate attacks for sure. Above all, security is on full alert. For your fear, I can comfort most of my cousins and sisters are starting next month for their higher studies in US. They will be your daughters age for sure. So think positive and she will have a great time at Los Angeles.

As someone who lives in the U.S., I feel confident saying that travel to America will be no more or less risky than it has been since 9/11. Our security is very tight, and we have foiled many, many alleged "terrorist" threats. Also, the United States is a VERY large country with literally thousands of places to visit. Of course a terrorist attack could happen anywhere, but the chances of you being at the intended target here in the U.S. at precisely the same time as a planned event is unlikely, at best. You may experience lines at security, and things of that nature, but if you are willing to deal with that, then I think you should still visit us!

I live in America and I think your daughter will be fine. Our country is pretty safe, if I didn't feel that way then we wouldn't live here.

If you are worried about her traveling to America, you should be worried about her going anywhere. People need to remember there are Allies of the US all over the world. America, had help finding Bin Laden. Yes, there was a quest to do so. But with a good reason. Of course, there is a risk of a terror attack. But this risk is everywhere. Heck, your next door neighbor could be spy for all you know. Sending valuable information to another country. Just waiting for the go ahead to attack. Don't let this stop your daughter from having an opprotunity of a life time. Many don't get and opprotunity like her's. Best Wishes!
