There are lots of situation to be considered that a person is lying to you. In your case, how would you know if that person is telling the truth? If a person tells you that he or she loves you, how would you know that this person really loves you? It is not just love, but in other situation. There some people who really knows how to pretend and knows how to act properly in order not to caught them lying. Is it by looking to his or her eyes? I heard some say that looking to their eyes, you would know if that person is lying to you or they are telling the truth. I do not know if this is effective. They said that the eyes are the mirror of the soul so, by looking to their eyes, you would know if they are lying or they are telling the truth --- but still, there some people who are expert in lying even if you are staring at their eyes!

There definitely a great amount of people who are great in lying. How to know when they are lying? Learn how to read people's mind. Nah! I'm just playing with you. There are no secret ways how to determine if a person is lying to you. Sometimes, you just have to have a little faith in the goodness of people. If you ended up being lied to, then that person does not deserve you at all.

Don't always rely on the eyes. There are people of steel like me, who can lie directly to your face without looking suspicious. Some people have ticks when they lie, look for those.

Yes I hear also their sayings that the way they speak the truth is connected also on eyes actions. But you are right that if a person is expert on lying we cannot recognized them on eyes. I noticed him if lying by analyzing his words. If i have doubt i try to look back to his words specially if it is written. And if he is in front of me i silently observing his gesture and reading his emotions. SO i always use my feelings and emotion. If we love a person as feel him/her.

I had heard of this earlier too.I did some search on the Net to further verify this knowledge: The liar will touch his nose for the following reasons: -Pinocchio Effect -Scientists at the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago. -Found when you lie, chemicals known as catecholamines are released, causing tissue inside the nose to swell. (They use special imaging cameras that show blood flow in the body) -Intentional lying is meant to cause an increase in blood pressure. -The human nose expands with blood during lying -known as the pinocchio effect. -Increased blood pressure inflates the nose and causes the nerve endings in the nose to tingle. -resulting in a brisk rubbing action to the nose with the hand to satisfy the itch. -You can't see the swelling with the naked eye. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070903092736AAA3ns1

There's more to it than just eye movement;there's also body language, pulse and breathing variations, nostril flaring, etc. These are the sort of things a skilled interrogator can pick up on while questioning interrogator can pick up on while question in registers. Up and left eye movement indicates accessing of the creative side of the brain.

Looking to his/her eyes maybe sometimes it could be true but there are other people who are expert especially those who have done it a lot so it's just an ordinary thing to them. You can also know if the person is lying in the way he/she moves or the way she/he talks to you.You may find something unusual if you are an observer on little things he/she forgets.

Well i would say just to look at the eyes of the person then you would know if that person was lying or telling the truth. That's because most of the time for me because i lie a lot and i know when i would be caught if i lie too much or say something which i am not. So i would get caught very easily! Cheers!

Their voice, and specially their eyes. They have to be relaxed, hardly a lier can do that. They will move too much when a person is lying, making up a story, lying just a little bit, their hands will move a little too, they will find it hard to look in your face, their body will move too, they won't be straight to you but trying to move facing a little to your sides, cause that means avoiding you a little but it's subconsciously. They might bite their lips just a little bit and without realizing it. The voice changes tones... I think this is it.

The best way to tell if a person is lying is to look straight to their eyes when they talk. It is very effective if you know the person enough to know how she acts or talks when he or she says the truth. Then by looking straight to their eyes when they talk you'll know right away if they are lying or not.

If you are in a relationship you will know if your partner is telling the truth by the action of your partner. Is he or she spending more time with you? Is he or she calling you on the cellphone more often? Is he or she talking about another person outside the relationship? Is he or she taking you out for a drink or to watch the movie together? Is he or she buying you a gift or present during festive period? Is he or she calling you from place of work? All these are the easy evidence one can have at his finger tips to enable one know a trustworthy person. If your partner is meeting all these needs in your lives then I can say he or she is telling the truth.

i had a girlfriend who i suspected was two timing me. i always believed that the eyes would be the give away. if you keep eye with the person and see if they look away to the right when speaking then they are telling a lie. i thought my girlfriend was a good liar so i called my mate who works in the CIA. he suggested water boarding as that has a 95% success rate as opposed to 25% for the eye contact test. After only one occurance of waterboarding the only thing i found out was that her mother did not like me and i had figured that out after the laxative chocolate chip cookies she made me. My girlfriend left me the next day...she did'nt even leave me a note explaining why. i have never waterboarded any of my girlfriends since because it makes an awful mess of the carpets. PS i am only joking about the waterboarding incident but i do believe in the eye contact bit! lol!
