Tetris: That Good Old Game!

Philippines

Hello myLotters! A game in facebook has recaptured my love for the Game Tetris (or "Brick Game" as we laymen call it). I remember a time when all of my classmates own a Brick Game, or if they don't own one, would fall in line to borrow somebody's brick game. Good times! Now, I want to buy a Tetris toy (or whatever you call it)! And play on it all day long! What are your good memories with this game? Do any of you miss it? Good day! :)

Hi happycaprice!!! This brings back memories of "kalyo".^^ There was once a time when I was so addicted to this that I won't stop until the gadget is sizzling hot! ^^;; It was really popular those days but I can't remember any "good" memories of it because my addiction only caused me to be lazy. LOL And as far as I can remember, I think that toy caused arguments and fights inside our house. .

hi secretbear! yeah, I got "kalyo" too! And now that I think about it, my toys wouldn't last for long because it was always overheated! haha. I wasn't so good in maintaining my toys. :P What, you don't want it to be sold anymore? But I still want to play! haha. Your nephew and niece would enjoy a good round of playing the game as long as they can be kept in control. heheh. :)

Hi Caprice the Happy Of course, the brick game is tsill one of my favorites. And I still own a handheld playable device (they say it is Chinese but its internals say Made in Taiwan). I had purchased it few years back and it is still functional and playable. Though it says it offers 999 games, there is only one in it - the brick game and there are only 9 versions. It cost me USD 10.00 those days. The best part of this game is that it helps increase quick deduction for the brain when the speeds of the falling bricks go higher.

Ah, the price I mentioned was in India and way back some 4-5 years ago. Today they are quite cheaper and even smaller in size - sometimes look like palmtops

hello thesids! the funny thing about this game is how addicting it is once you start it. i know it's true for me! haha it's cool you have one! savior of a boring day, huh? I think I'll look for one one of these days, if I have free time. But it's USD 10? I had thought it would only cost USD 2-3! haha. anyway, i'll look for a cheaper one. :)

I remember the game. It was quite addictive, so addictive that once i saw the domain tetrisclassic dot com, I snapped it up just because of the pleasant memories of yesteryear. By the way, have you seen Human Tetris games? I have human tetris videos at my site. They are hilarious.

Hello happycaprice, My my, you certainly brought back good memories. Who can forget the Brick Games. (I still don't want to call it Tetris, for me it will always be Brick Game). Lots of fights involved as well, as my sister, my cousin and I all want to play and we only had one. Cries and shout of, 'Mom, it's my turn and she's not giving me!' Good times. It's not the same playing on the computer. I want to play on the handheld one, the one like thesid mentioned...that says 999 games in 1 but only have that game.

@Zralte When you find one of those with just one game, let me know... they may have another buyer and you may get some chaper deal
• Philippines

hi zralte! I can imagine you fighting with your cousins! Because that's what I used to do with my brother. The fights will get louder and louder until Mom would give up and buy each of us a Brick Game each. win-win! :D Playing in the computer is a hassle. The game on facebook has a limited number of games you can play, so it's a little frustrating! haha

I dont have memories of tetris. But I do have memories of a really old game. I remember playing a Circus tetris game a lot on my IBM in a millenium ago and that was okay. But not spectacular. The game that I always played was Wolfenstein 3D. That low graphics low sound game that was such a hit... Anyway pardon for going away from tetris for a while. But I miss some oldies...

Haha. I guess that's okay. I haven't actually heard of Wolfenstein 3D. :\ Is Circus Tetris similar to the Tetris I'm talking about? ^_^

Yes it is most probably. It was a game that was a hit back in the days when Dos was still used. And yes I believe it is. But I may be mistaken.

I have yet to try out the facebook version of Tetris, but it has long been one of my favourite computer games since I first discovered it as an arcade game, and it was the main reason for buying my original Gameboy! It's quite an addictive and simple game..the "Bejewelled" games have some of that playability also..

The game on facebook is actually interesting. You're playing against another player. Each line you complete will cause you're opponents' bricks to increase. Check it out. Maybe you'll get addicted again. :D(It's called Tetris Battle btw) I also love playing BeJewelled. :)

I love Tetris. I first encountered it on the original game boy console, and was hooked. I'm very good at it too, which is probably a sign of a miss-spent youth. so I do play it on Facebook too, when I saw that it was on there.

Tetris is really fun, I'm a master at it. Classic games are awesome, but Donkey Kong 64 is still the best game ever made, no matter what comes out in the future.
• Philippines
5 May 11
I agree. Classic games are awesome. They're timeless and every age will play them. Like Tetris, and Donkey Kong like you mentioned. Though to tell the truth, I haven't really played it! Donkey Kong wasn't popular at my time. :P But Mario Brothers, Snake, etc -- they're all icons. :D

Wow you reminded me of my old favorite game :) I loved tetris and I still do but it has been quite a while since I last played it. Me and my sister always had competitions of who would have the highest score :) Oh good old days!! While traveling, if there were tetris games in the program, I wouldn't watch the movies and just play tetris throughout my flight :D That's how much I adore this game.

Brick game! I remember when I was a little girl, I always borrow my best friend's brick game and cry if she won't let me borrow it.. Then I'll go ask my parents to buy me one and if they reject me I'll cry and scream with all my might.. Until they finally bought me one..
• Philippines
